I didn't know about this game until the 2nd Kickstarter (and only then thanks to a random comment on IGN). Glad I got in when I did. This game is going to be awesome. I can't wait to play it! Between this and the new King's Quest, all we need now is a new Space Quest. (fingers crossed)

Creators that make games that are charismatic; full of guffaws and good natured humor when you least suspect it. They create worlds where once you step inside, your sense of Adventure and wonder become vast and unpredictable. The Quest for Glory series had some of the most inventive adventure puzzles, gameplay and story-telling. Interrupt an evil wizard's summoning ritual.. knock over his candles. All these elements are very well grounded and yet always end up surprising, much to the delight of the player. I commend the Cole's for taking a risk and trying to get back into the game, so to speak. They've put tons of work into their campaign and that alone is admirable. I've witnessed them answering or relying to a majority of the statements and questions in the Kickstarter comments section. They're kindness and attention to fans/backers/critics has been well esteemed and sets a great example. Long live the Cole's and the quest for Glory.

If you played CRPGs in the early 90s, you owe at least a consideration to this project. Think of all those times you went to Electronics Boutique, Babbage's, or your local game store to browse all the dictionary-sized boxes of computer games. I guarantee you either bought or considered buying a Quest for Glory game. Please consider contributing to this project - even a dollar will earn you high praise. Thank you!!!

This project *has* to happen... I want to play it! I know that Lori Ann and Corey have something fantastic in store for us, if we can only give them the chance. Bring this game here to GOG, and help it get funded, people!

Lori and Corey Cole are heroes. They are heroes to many of us. Their games, beginning with "Hero's Quest: So You Want To Be A Hero?" (which later went on to be the first of the "Quest for Glory" Series) have always inspired heroism in their audience. They forged their own path in the industry by combining role-playing elements with the adventure game format that Sierra was known for. It was a bold move, and their game became the best selling title for the company. My all-time favourite game, "Quest for Glory II: Trial By Fire," is a true gem. The game has an incredible amount of depth in all areas. The story is rich, the characters nuanced, and the gameplay is a lot of fun. The world is full of places to explore, and your character really comes into his own as a hero. All of this, with a healthy dose of punny comedy. To be honest, the same is true of all of the "Quest for Glory" games. "Hero-U" promises to be a return to these core elements. The story is intruguing, the characters and their interactions are unique, and the world is full of ambiance and charm. The presentation is full of the old humour, and the gameplay is much more expansive than in any of their previous offers. The graphics are beautiful, and it is truly hard to believe that it is made using tiles. And, of course, the game is all about being a Hero. I implore anyone and everyone to contribute to the Kickstarter Campaign for "Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption" (there are loads of really cool rewards), or to at least vote here and comment on why you feel this game should be made. I feel that this game should be made because I believe in the team. I know that they make fantastic games, and I would love to see them continue to do so. Lori and Corey Cole are my heroes because they make the games that they want to play, and when they do, everyone else wants to play as well.

Codename Iceman wasnt too bad, I enjoyed the setting. But I agree that the Quest For Glory Games were better, except for the last one!

I've been playing through older Sierra games along with the Adventure Gamer blog's Trickster. Currently running through Codename Iceman, it's given me a much greater appreciation for how effective the Coles were able to combine genres as they did and that the puzzles were much more story driven and narrative supported, rather than delaying tactics to prevent you from reaching the end by play 'Guess what the Designer was thinking!' Really looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the table with a return to the world of Gloriana.

The more they say about this game, the more I think that this game simply *must be made*. My favorite revelation when playing QFG was that the puzzles had different solutions for each character class. At a certain point, I realized that I was playing through the magic user as if he were a fighter, and just casting the "flame dart" spell on every enemy that I had slung a sword at in my previous play-through. When I realized that you could solve the Kobold puzzle in game 1 without ever even awakening him - much less killing him - I saw that flame dart was probably the lamest spell in the mage's arsenal. So began an entirely new type of experience, trying to figure out creative ways of using spells to get around the puzzles that the fighter had to fight his way through. Now, they're talking about having not just 3 solutions, but possibly many more. Maybe they're overcommitting - I'm not sure. But they seem to be aiming at a bullseye that no other game designers out there right now are even aware of. As I said, and as so many others are saying, this game just needs to get made.

I have a feeling a lot of the gamers who come buy classics on GOG are going to appreciate this game, assuming it actually gets funded (kickstarter progress is decent but could be better, looks like it will come down to a nail-biter finish)

Quest for Glory is my favorite game series of all time. I have no doubt that Lori & Corey Cole will make Hero-U just as amazing. The blend of RPG and Adventure game was what made the QFG games so appealing. You would love the games regardless of which type you prefer. They had amazing plot development and puzzles for adventure gamers and monsters, quests and leveling for the RPG fans. Those games really were the best of both worlds joined into one. Hero-U will be a blend of both types, just like QFG, and the adventure, puzzles and combat will all be there, along with that great humor all QFG fans loved. And a bonus, if you're not too great at real-time combat (like me) - Hero-U combat is turn-based! Don't like killing monsters? No problem, study in your classes and learn how to sneak right past them! Or use tricks to fool them or disable them. (I'm hoping they'll have some way to make the monsters just die laughing.)

It was the Space Quest Series that "lured me in" to Sierra by the Space Quest series. The first one I really remember playing was SQ2 on my 286 eons ago lol My first experience with Quest for Glory was the original EGA "Hero's Quest", initially I didn't do much besides kill monsters, get the castle portcullis lowered onto my hero, and get drunk at the Tavern. The first one in the series I actually beat was Trial by Fire, using a hint book. That also happened to be my introduction to Sierra Hint Books. I'm excited about this game the more I hear! Especially some of the cool stretch goals hinted at in the recent updates, adapting a baby Meep would def lead to some great comedic scenarios!
