krappled Got Heavy Gear 1 with a Sony Vaio desktop I think, fell in love with the game instantly.
weekend_warrior The easiest way to run this game today is to search on YouTube for "PC 586 Pentium Emulator and Windows 98 with Games" and click "Show More" to see the links the poster provided to download a working PCEm copy from Google Drive. You can install Heavy Gear I or II on this PCEm emulator and they run perfectly.

midnitdragoon I just logged on to good old games to see if by any chance heavy gear 1 or 2 were available for purchase. I'm very surprised they are not!!!! Used to love the heck out of these games back in the day. Please add =DDD!!!!!

DragonCurse4 Ah I remember Heavy Gear. When I was a kid in the 90's, I never had the game, but my next door neighbor did. I had the Mechwarrior games and he figured I'd enjoy this game since it's pretty much the same (except with FMV's :D).
When me and my family moved away, he gave me this game. After the move to a new state, somehow someway, a whole bunch of things were lost in the move (including this game). One of the saddest days ever. :(
I actually tried looking for the game disk several years ago (after I remembered this game existed ^_^;), but for some reason the game was impossible to find (even on ebay). Though I doubt I would have been able to get the game running on the current OS's any (it would be Mechwarriors 2 all over again).
It would make my year if this website started carrying Heavy Gear (and HG 2 since I never played that one).
Satyrias Heavy Gear II is more important, but I would totally buy this, just because I love the sequel and I'm curious to try this out.
weekend_warrior i read somewhere that the challenge with getting HG and HG2 running on modern OS's is emulating the video cards that the game was designed to run on.

i hope you guys get around to doing this one, the license will be very difficult though.

Mattia92 These were the best Armored Trooper VOTOMS-esque games ever made. I really wish for a re-release that works on modern computer systems.
DragoFire love the fact it was the closest to the release RPG/boardgame out of HG and HG2, plus the fact you could use striders.

KitDreamer I NEED THIS. I played this on my old Win98SE machine years ago and adored it, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to play these days on modern pcs, so a version recoded for windows 7 etc that would actually work would be pure unadulterated BLISS.
