Harvester рассмотрено
God bless GOG!
18 years of waiting and my wish's fulfilled!
10000000000 Thanks
I can make Harvester work in Windows 7 and XP. I use DOSBox and I have no problems with it.
Bah.
This has got to be one the must have FMV pc games out there, and not many people have been able to experience this games unique story. From all of the known and popular FMV games out there this is still #1 on my list. I still own the original game, and would love to see this on GOG so I can finally play it in a more convenient format.
Funnily enough, some people think this game was banned in Australia at around the same time as Phantasmagoria. But it's not true, the publisher knew it wouldn't pass classification even in it's European censored version so they never even bothered. So it wasn't banned in Australia...it simply was never submitted for classification. So this one day i walk into a little second hand music shop in Canberra that had a small game section. And there it was...the non censored USA 3 disc version of Harvester for Aust $9! Obviously someones personal import and the shop had no idea what it was. One of my most prized games...but i'd love to see it on GOG in a ready to run on modern system form.
I have an original copy and playing it is nearly impossible as it is incompatible with DOSBox and with the numerous bugs...ugh! GOG please make this a reality!
Harvester is one of the best horror point-and-click, next to Sanitarium and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, AND there's no way of making it work in Windows 7. C'mon GoG, This is one of the absolute must have in the site.
Amazing game, despite a rather jarring shift in tone and gameplay during the last third. It's point and click adventure gaming at its most awesome for the first 2 thirds though. At first the story seems generic and predictable, but as it unfolds, you'll come to find that it's anything
but that. Normally I hate FMV games from the early to mid 90s, but this game caught my attention due to its controversy and violent nature.
TL;DR add Harvester because its awesome and there are so few games like it: a simple story on top, but with important social commentary on violence in video games, and the media in general hiding underneath.
Plus it'd be awesome to have the compatibility fine tuned so that I could actually see some of the cutscenes that the game refuses to play, even in dosbox.
pleeeeeeeaaaase! i HAVE to play this game!
We mustn't give up!
My guess would be: Legal Limbo... Tyler tried to learn something more about the issue, but even guys from Harvester's unofficial Facebook pake seem to not know much: https://www.facebook.com/lodge.level.4
Who owns the rights to this game anyway? Practically no info on either the developer or publisher of this game. Apparently Virgin Interactive distributed it in the UK but that's all I found.
Deadly Premonition Light :)
this really looks like it belongs on GOG - a very unique and graphically disturbing game - really David Lynch like in ways
I would love to play this game.
Would love to see this game on GoG. Right now the only way to get a decent copy is to pay $100 for an original copy first edition on Amazon. That is of course is the bugged DOS copy with 4 CD-roms. I want a non-bugged copy, no CD-roms, and no DOS. Please GoG make it so.
I think this would be a great and well appreciated addition to the GOG Library.
I bought this game back in the 90's but never finished it. At the time, I never heard of it. It was an impulse buy based on description and screen shots on the back of the box. Doing that usually leads to disappointment, but not in this case. If I remember correctly, it was a 4 CD-ROM game.
Harvester, a classic point n' click adventure, delivers an atmosphere never seen before, nor since. What seems to be normal, pleasantly wholesome atmospheres and characters, circa 1950's, can get creepy, DISTURBING, and even downright deadly in the drop of a dime.
Example: You walk outside and see the neighborhood paper boy. What starts as a friendly chat ends in the child pulling a pistol and brutally gunning you down.
This game is chocked full of eccentric, unbalanced, and truly disturbing characters.
For those reasons, the game is not for everyone, but does have its fan base.
I imagine there's a big crowd out there hungry for adventure that's out-of-the-ordinary, disturbing, and down-right horrific at times -- ones that live for those "WTF" moments! :) Harvester delivers over n' over again throughout its twisted story.
For me, this would be an immediate buy without hesitation, just to experience this horrifically beautiful piece of adventure gaming.
Just look up "Harvester Game" on Google. You should find plenty of info and even a youtube video that should get your mouth frothing with foam :)
I'm a true adventure game fan since the 80's. The genre is saturated with fun, cutesy comedic stories. This one explores the dark, eccentric, and sometimes unimaginable side of mankind.
It's a rare, and virtually unknown gem that could get the recognition it deserves if GOG could bring it back!
I've be waiting for this for 17 years now...
Please fulfill the fan's wishes, with a non bugged non msdos Version :)
Such a wonderful game, and it didn't receive it's due in 1996. If any game deserves a re-release on GoG, it's certainly Harvester.
DO IT!
now, this would be great! there is nearly no possibility to get it anymore, it would be a real shame if this gem would fall into oblivion. its an unique experience with stunning atmosphere and dialogues. why is there phantasmagoria but no harvester? i also enjoyed phantasmagoria if you compare graphics design.. but THIS would be much more fun and a more immersive feeling!
GOG you are my last hope to enjoy playing this masterpiece!
GOG can ignore us, but they probably don't want to as we are their loving fanbase :) But we need to find the rights holder, so any help in this matter would be great :)
Keep voting for it GoG can't ignore use forever
This game is a masterpiece of all types of horror, be it psychological, gore or otherwise, because of that it has developed a sort of cult following. It must be added to GOG.com. Resurrecting forgotten masterpieces is what GOG is all about!
THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE HERE GOD DAMN IT. It has such a big underground following, not to mention all the people who love sick shit and would wanna get it just as soon as you show them a trailer! Harvester is a true rarity, both in terms of availability (it can't be bought ANYWHERE except rare Ebay cases that show up every once in a while) and as a Game. It's not that nobody makes games like this one anymore. They haven't EVER made something like this one! :D
it's gonna be awesome.
I vote yes on a gog.com release of Harvester! It's an experience nobody should miss out on and re-releasing it on gog.com will give new people to the game access to play it easily.
The sickest and the best game ever! Fan site on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lodge.level.4
yeah man harvester is the best id love it on here so i can actually run it
Could u please add this game on gog list..
it sounds intresting hope it gets on
asides from the strong horror element, this game was knowingly hilarious. strong Twin Peaks 90s VHS vibes.
How owns the rights to this today, anyway? I think it would not be hard to get this on GoG.
This is a twisted masterpiece. Hope GOG gets it.

This is a must have FMV game! Besides...there's no way to run this in a Windows environment...you guys are the only one that can bring this game back! I'm begging you!
Seems like a pretty cool game!
One of the most horrifying things in my childhood! Ofcourse I'd like to experince hopefully the same horror, that I did then
Don't mind if I do!
This game would a nice touch of "obscure" to the adventure section. Sick and twisted, but underneath is a very solid and surprisingly (considering the context) well written open point'n click adventure. Plus, my old boxed copy doesn't work too well (at all) anymore, and want experience this again after many years.
Very odd game but very good, GOG definitely needs this game. Shouldn't be too hard to get I wouldn't think!
I would love to see this game on GOG
Would love to play this again.. A classic In its own twisted way
It's October, now would be a good to release this. ;)
One of the sickest games I loved...
I remember this one time where bugs start coming out of a baby and they push his eyes back in or something. It was totally metal. This game needs to be on here.
I purchased Sanitarium in error thinking it was Harvester this week - Not a bad mistake, but Sanitarium really does follow closely in the vein of such twisted point and click adventure games like the Phantasmagoria series (which IS available on GOG)
I did play this at a friends place, we were probably about 12 years at the time. It was hard for us to actually progress, but I do remember the macabre, fantastic atmosphere. The humour was so very twisted and fascinating. I have been searching for this game, but without success. GoG, please bring this game to your shelves!
As others have said, this may not be the 'best' game, but it's a classic in it's own twisted ways! I really want to play this again.
