Dr.Siniestro I remember my dad bought me the unlock code for the full game (being spanish, it was a hard and magical thing) but I sadly lost it.
Spiderweb has released remakes but I want to go back to my childhood and play that 6-character tactical RPG, so please GoG, help us go back.
Davane If anyone can get the Exile series to work on Windows 10, it's going to be GOG.com.
I know these games are free from the Spiderweb Software website, but I would gladly throw both GOG and Spiderweb Software some cash to get the entire Exile series running under Windows 10. I am already doing a Let's Play of the original version Avernum that was released by GOG, and it would be great to be able to do a Let's Play of it's precursor - Exile - too...
Telliks I've been searching for this series for YEARS!
Around 20 years ago I had a CD titled "1000 Best Games for Windows"... it was full of an absolute crapload of shareware games. I sat installing tons of those games on my Windows 98 PC and playing them. Most of them were trash, but I was like 7, so I just liked playing games.
I remembered playing a top-down RPG with turn-based combat that included a character that was some kind of grey cat-man, and took place in what appeared to be a blue/purple cave.
That's all I could remember of it, and I finally decided yesterday to sit and make an earnest effort to track it down.
And now I believe I've found it... in Exile 3. I ended up finding a download of that 1000 Games disc. Of course, it won't run on Windows 10, but I was able to mount the .iso and start digging around in the files. I found the list of games all packaged into zip files and I started going through them one by one. I eventually came to a folder titled "BOE.zip", and the readme contained in the file included the name of the game... "Blades of Exile".
This sounded familiar, but looking up screenshots online proved to not show anything really familiar. I decided to skip straight to the E section of the folders and found "ExileIII.zip". Looking up a video online... BINGO!
Top-down RPG? Check!
Turn-based combat? Check!
Party system? Check!
Blue/Purple cave-like environment? Check!
Grey cat-people? Check!
I've finally found it! I'm so happy!
I would definitely pay $5 for a version of this series updated to include some kind of emulator to run on modern versions of Windows. I'd love to experience this game again. This has my vote.

wariodude128 I have been trying for so long to get Exile to run on my Windows 7 64 bit. Resorted to trying to download Windows 95 just to have it run. Without luck ,I might add. Considering the games are currently freeware on Spiderweb's website, I think it would make sense if GOG contacted them and asked to release them here for free. If only because it would be a preview of what's to come in the complete Avernum saga. Which I have not played because I want to play the Exile series first. I guess what GOG would have to do is have each game run in DOSBox with Windows 95 installed. Because I tried running Exile in DOSBox and it said the program was made for Windows 95. End of rant.

AllurinGirl At this point, considering we are at the third reboot for these series (Escape from the Pit) era, I think i would be ideal if the Exile full series were included as bonus games to the already released Avernum: The Complete Saga.

Unzki Definitely! While Avernum is newer and fancier, there are certain gameplay things I liked a lot in the original Exile games. And these definitely belong to "Good OLD Games"! =D
SirLumsalot Oh please oh please! I used to love this game when I was a young. I would definitely buy this from GOG if they put it up!
