Dreamfall Chapters is the upcoming episodic sequel to the adventure games The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, developed by Red Thread Games, a studio founded by Ragnar Tørnquist, who wrote and designed the previous two games. I donated more then I could afford in the kickstarter, about 250 USD picking the 200 USD tier because of the USB, ended up struggling with my rent that month.
I might end up buying it here too if it ends up here, the original TLJ I've bought 3 so far due to CDs getting broken and me wanting to support the game and I'm considering buying it yet again for various reasons later when I can afford it.
Now trust me, if a game can add that kind of enthusiasm from it's fans then the follow up should be worth adding too.
Just look at the kickstarter and the kicktraq page to see how amazing the support for the game was even with limited advertisement of the fact that it even existed on the kickstarter.
Please, please, please do add it here, pretty please ;-)

I'm backing this game and want to see it on gog.com. JUST make sure you get one FINAL FULL version from the developers, because there was a worrying 0-day DLC implying update in their kickstarter update, about exclusive character hairstyles and clothes.

@Mivas: that's not the point, the point is that I'll have the Linux version on _Steam_, just like Torment: Tides of Numenera, Forsaken Fortress - the survival RPG, Sir You Are Being Hunted, Project Eternity, Wasteland 2 and whatever the future holds.

I too have donated for this project on Kickstarter by using Paypal. This payment method can only be done through their main website. So it's not an entire lost for those people looking out to donate without Credit Card. In any case, let's just hope GOG will release this once the game is finished. After all, its going to be out on all major platforms.

This is gonna be so epic! Both Ragnar and Dag did both Dreamfall and The Longest Journey. So there are some from the TLJ game and more from the team who did Dreamfall at Red Thread Games or RTG. I really need to get a closure to the events in Dreamfall. So good games! Dreamfall Chapters is hopefully everything we want! Since we got the Director's and co-writer from both prior games it is in good hands.

That's just it, they are not a known developer. They have much of the same team, but they are no longer coming out under Funcom. Still, I tend to agree, just because the team has changed names... It's pretty clear just looking at the kickstarter what the community wants. Still, only time will tell.

No, it will NOT be episodic (as confirmed by Ragnar Tørnquist in November). "Chapters" refers to the chapters of a person's life. This will be one complete game.

Why are Steam and GOG not going to have this game available anyway without this and Greenlight? Both TLJ and Dreamfall were on both services, they're a known developer, why make them jump through more hoops? Utterly bizarre.

TLJ will always be one of the best adventure games ever made, Dreamfall wasn't technically as good as TLJ, but it had a great story. Dreamfall Chapters looks really promising and I'd like to buy it here on GOG, even though I've already pledged on kickstarter and will have digital copy of the game.

I have so backed that kickstarter to death, they're even sending me a DVD of the game. ;) But all DRM free kickstarter games have to be on GOG first and foremost, it's just a match made in heaven.

7 years after its predecessor we might finally figure out what happened after the events of Dreamfall that culminated in the most frustrating cliffhanger in gaming history. With gorgeous music, mysterious events, superb voice acting and believable characters it's one of the few games that will get to you.
