@Kamashii: What OS are you playing the game on? If it's XP, just change the compatibility modes to Win 95 and 256 colors and the visuals are as they should be. You're welcome.
I would love it see it here. I do still have diablo for my computer but the graphic go all crazy whenever I try to play it. For a point its "playable" if you don't mind seeing not much of anything lol
@lironki I have a Mac and can't play it unless it will be released here with a Mac version compatible with OS X ML
Give us D1 +Hellfire exp!
i have diablo 1 and it works perfectly on win 7 64 bit without using any mods or pathces
so whats the point of uploading this game here?
Yes. Just plain yes.
I'd LOVE to see this game on here with its expansion Hellfire - similar to TA's expansions - I never got a chance to play that expansion, so I'd love to have the chance to go back and play through both games proper.
I 'd love to see this happen, but GOG will have both a legal battle and a technical battle at their hands to a) get the rights to distribute it. b) make the game compatible with newer versions of Windows based on WinNT technology, along with the ability to play it on modern Graphic cards. Diablo I uses weird undocumented DirectX calls in it's menu system. Linux Wine plays the game just fine, as long as you can blindly click the right options on the black screen to get into the game proper. GOG managed to finally bag the most requested game, System Shock II...Still, Blizzard/ Activision will be a hard one to convince.
They might allow this to happen. They don't sell D1 on battle.net. I really hope it does happen because this is my favorite and I would buy it in a heartbeat. This is one of the few titles that I am sad my girlfriend didn't play and want her to be able to have the experience.
Its useless voting for this on gog, it will never happen. Acti-Blizz will never allow it. Blizzard only sell their digital download games at their own store, but will allow other stores to sell cd keys.
If Blizzard lets you do this, please offer the Mac version as well.
Please GOG - try to get a license to sell Diablo I on your website. It is no longer available in the Diablo II battlechests, and is not available on the website. I cannot get my old disc to be compatible with Windows 7. I would love to buy a compatible version through you. If not, maybe Blizzard will realize that there is still a demand for the game.
I also want to see the Hellfire expansion... The problem as I see it is that this expansion wasn't made by Blizzard, but a third party. =/ Still hoping!
Please include the Hellfire expansion with Diablo
Sorry, now I found out that I've said almost exactly the same as pbaggers below, bleh :) So, I confirm it!
I agree that Diablo II and Diablo II LoD will not be able to appear on GoG because it is still available on Blizzard's own online store. But Diablo I is completely out of print - up until quite recently it was still included in the Diablo II battlechest, but now it's not anymore. At this moment, the only way to get it is through second hand sites like eBay or Amazon. So while I agree that Diablo II and its expansion won't be available, I'm carefully holding my hopes up for Diablo 1.
Now that I think about it, I don't see why Blizzard's older games can't be on this site. I understand why we couldn't get Starcraft, Diablo II and Warcraft III - because those games are still being sold at retail, but Diablo I is now totally out of print (having been removed from the Diablo Battlechest just a few years ago). Activision has already signed on with GOG, and I think they own Blizzard (or they're merged, or something like that). Why can't we get even the games Blizzard has completely abandoned?
Make sure to include "Hellfire".
Diablo it's a great game, with a forge ambient dark-gothic. Diablo Need OUR Votes... Diablo will be on!
This would be great, but it'll *never, ever* happen. Blizzard have their own online store, their own gaming network, and jealously guard their rights. Diablo will never be on Steam, or Origin, and definitely never on GoG. Sorry guys, sucks but it's true.
This and diablo 2 already work on Windows7
I was just going to make a new thread about this. I would love to see Diablo, Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction for Windows 7 expansion on here.
/agree , is there any other way that i can do?
Has 2 b the greatest rpg of all time but the playstation vir sucks i used to have it on pc all u can get now are emus and roms of of the ps1 game now i have looked all over the net for DIABLO on pc and just cant find a working vir
So...Blizzard doesn't want *anyone* to have it? That sounds typical. Here's another voice for Diablo on gog!
I wouldn't imagine Blizzard letting GOG have any other of its games, but they seem to regard this almost as abandonware, surely there is a chance (OK a slim one) of getting hold of this, in that case.
you can't buy it from their online store, and i doubt they will allow it.
Me too! Why don't we start sending a huge quantity of mails to blizzard to see if they let us have it on gog? :)
I would like to see it here.
As someone who'd like to get into the Diablo series, but has apprehensions of joining a series without playing the first entry, I'd love to be able to buy a digital copy of the original Diablo. It seems unlikely since Blizzard doesn't even have it on there website, but one can always hope. I'd buy it in a heartbeat though.
i have never played diablo 1 or 2 but have recently gotten 3 and would love see where it all began I hope you guys can get it
I reinstalled d1 & d2 in anticipation of 3, and i have to tell you that the original has lost a lot of its charm. I suggest trying D0: Nethack!
I would love this to happen, but it probably wont.
It probably won't happen, but I want Diablo !!!!
This will not happen, Blizzard wont allow anyone else to do their business. If anything ask Blizzard to sell their older games on battle.net.
I would like to see this game come here, but realize that's unlikely. Din's Curse is probably a far more likely bet, and a better game than D1, imo.
About battle.net : You have to know that battle.net accounts prior to Starcraft 2 are totally free accounts, With no DRM. With these old games, you can create as many acounts as you want, and they are not attached to your game licence keys. So battle.net is not a problem with Diablo 1.
Yojiro : You're wrong about Starcraft 1 : it's available on Blizzard store. But you're true for Diablo 1. I asked support about that, they say there is no plan about bringing Diablo 1 on Blizzard Store. Even if I think that Blizzard would never authorize another store to sell their games, I voted here to show my disapprobation on Blizzard politic.
Blizzard has stated they have no plans to ever put their older games (Diablo 1, Starcraft 1, Warcraft 1 & 2 and anything else around/before that time) on their own store and integrating them into their battle.net account system so it's perfectly legit for people to be requesting these games, not sure why people are overreacting to the request so badly.
Guys, Blizzard sells Diablo 2 DRM-Free already! I think some of you really have the wrong picture on Blizzard. I mean, of course their newer games are DRM protected...pretty much all big PC games are. I doubt they'll sell Diablo through GOG, but not because they're some evil company who wants to steal your soul (again, as I can verify since I just recently bought it, they sell Diablo 2 DRM-free right now on their site) , just because they don't need or want a middleman. Unlike some other companies, they still make plenty of money off their old games (hence why you can STILL find Diablo, Starcraft and even Warcraft battle chests im stores) and they dont need a site like GOG. Really you should just be asking Blizzard to sell Diablo DRM-free like they are D2.
YESSSSS! Greatest role-playing game behind Fallout and Fallout 2!!!!
Kinda weird of Blizzard to make Diablo playable in StarCraft 2 rather than in Diablo 3. While it's unlikely Blizzard will ever support GOG, it's only been a year since we said the same about Electronic Arts. Blizzard of course have stronger ties to their IP's and a much more loyal customer base than EA does, so I still think it's unlikely Blizzard would publish their games here, but stuff changes, and it's not entirely impossible.

I and my wife play Diablo 1&2 LOD very wk. I am 59 and she well that's say she is older than me. WE LOVE THE GAMES!!! They ROCK BABY!
Hey, it's worth a try! If they've stopped selling the first one on their site you never know. I have D2 + LOD on discs. I'd love if GOG could get this.
Hehe.. Diablo 1 & 2 would be awesome! But ohhh, ain't gonna happen... Certainly in light of recent events, where Blizzard seems to be trying hard at becoming one of those giants who couldn't care less about their customers. Would *LOVE* to see it on GOG, if I could figure out how to achieve that without Blizzard making money from it.. ;) Or even better, if the money would go to the studios where the original developers reside now. Well, one can always have dreams! :)
fuck the pessimistics! Diablo Will be on GOG suckers!
