I did not get this game already because I don't like the crappy GFWL. If this was on GOG, it would be an insta buy for sure.
Wouldn´t have Multiplayer then, but I wouldn´t mind this...
Now that GfWL is history, there should be a GOG release ... please!
Unlikely as it is, I'd like to see the game (well, all the games from the series, including Demon's Souls if it is ever to be released on PC) here.
Can't actually purchase Dark Souls on Steam in my country, not to mention the DRM.
Perhaps it's unlikely we'll ever get this, but here's hoping for a DRM-free version.
I`ve been wanting to have a bash at this also, but the GFWL on top of Steam is a no go for me, hope GOG can make us regret out masochistic Vote ;)
Source: Wikipedia In August 2013 it was announced that the Games for Windows – Live service would be discontinued on July 1, 2014. Perhaps with GFWL being scrapped this game actually could end up on GOG if they remove GFWL (Since it won't exist anymore...) I'll vote for an edition free of GFWL to appear on GOG. ^_^
Forget it. It's a GFWL title. They did say it won't be included in the sequel, though.
Fat chance it'll ever be drm-free Amazing game though. One of the very best, in fact.
This is one of the greatest games ever made. Just buy it on Steam and enjoy. I doubt it will ever be free of GFWL as all of the online connectivity runs through that service.
drm free would be ace
Great game and I want it DRM free and I want to suport GOG with my purchase
Common, we need this game without stupid DRM + GFWL + Steam. What a bizzare combination!
I would also very much like to see this game on GOG, and I'm a bit surprised it has so few votes, given that it's being touted as one of the best hardcore games ever.
I'm not sure whether it's *likely* to ever be on GOG, but anyway...
Being Microsoft, they probably will not release their firm DRM-facilitated grip on this game even if it might be profitable for them - you just have to watch them buying market share with their new surface tablets to see that. I'm still hopeful though; a relative of mine has strongly recommended it to me and I'd like to play it at some point.
What? Why would I buy an expensive console? What's this idea about "exclusives"? Exclusives are something that publishers do to wring money out of customers, why would any customers be in favour of that, though?
Anyway, yes, I'd love to see this game on here. =)
Dark Souls is one of the single best games that has been released in over 5 years, but can't you guys just play it in a form that already lacks DRM on the Xbox or PS3? Can't the consoles have a game of their own that is really worth playing?
As much as I want this game on GOG, I see this as something that will never happen. Still hoping for the best!
i didn't even finished Demon's souls but i would love a GoG version for Dark Souls .
It would be so awesome if this game was available on GOG in the future. I hope you guys will give some kind of confirmation before release if it's coming or not, because it will be probably a day one purchase for me. But if you will bring it to GOG I'll wait.
However I think this game will need GFWL wherever it's sold because of it's online features.
Why aren't more people voting for this? The game is only coming to the PC because of a petition so PC gamers in general obviously do care. The ones on GOG should too. :[
need this game here! retail have GFWL! And DD maybe steamworks! bleah!
I seriously hope that Namco realizes that GFWL is a serious deterrent for paying gamers and do not use it. A gog version would be even better.
Me, too. I would totally buy it from GOG. Even preorder here.
I really hope these happins
