Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure completed
woo! Thank you GOG!
This is one of my favorite childhood games and while it is available from 3D Realms directly I would prefer to purchase it from a more reliable service like GOG.
I'd like the chance to go back and finish the non-shareware levels that I never had a chance to play and save Cosmo's parents.
One of my favorite childhood platformers. Lost a lot of my DOS games, sadly, and would love to be able to play this again on PC & Mac. Please make it happen, GOG! :)
Cosmo is available for sale at www.3drealms.com/cosmo/ but I would like to purchase it here, as I know that I will always be able to re-download it from gog.com at any time. Also, when I buy and download old DOS games here, I am always sure that it will work on Windows 7 with a dedicated installer. So yes, I would LOVE to see Cosmo here, I would buy it as soon as it is available.
Totally agree with Timoi's and TenkoTAiLS' posts; a lot of these old-school platformers need to end up on here. I remember quite a few of them from my younger days, and my main frustration about moving to newer versions of Windows, or having faster computers, was that probably half of the old-school games I enjoyed, don't work as well as they used to, or just don't work at all. And DOSBox, while getting better, was not up to par for quite some time; and as for virtual machines with Windows games, they're a pain to maintain if you start running low on hard drive space, and, even worse than DOSBox, the emulation can get really hairy and/or questionable, on top of being cumbersome. (Thumbs up for fixing Enclave for the same reasons, BTW.)
I played this a lot as a child. It was actually quite a well-made platformer too. Such colourful visuals. I'd love to be able to play it again.
I grew up playing this game! I would buy this one in a heart beat. Tenko's idea of making a collection is an excelent suggestion
Could easily be added with the Jill of the Jungle trilogy, Duke Nukem 1+2, Jazz Jackrabbit, Crystal Caves, and/or maybe a few others I'm not thinking of at this point in time. All awesome oldschool games from Epic/Apogee.
People may not pay a large sum for these super old emulated DOS games, but if you created say an Apogee Collection or an Epic Collection. With an assortment of their old games that are still not freeware after all these years, then i am sure people would pay up for nostalgia alone :D
I LOVED this game!
This. A thousand times THIS.
This game is great.
