Aquaria completed
I'd heard stuff. ;)
Have you heard something, tfishell? Or is that just "there's always hope"
There's hope. :)
The original developers of Aquaria are not a team anymore and that is somewhat of an understament. They have abandoned their game so the chance of it coming to GOG is slim. I do love Aquaria and I have two copies of this wonderful game, one complete with source code.
I really wonder, why there is no Aquaria for GOG, no interest?
Perhaps you contact - like me - the developers to ask them directly? You can find the email address at the bottom of the page of www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/
Fantastic Metroidvania style game with an original world and story, gorgeous soundtrack and visuals, from a team of two. Looks endearing on the surface with its young female protagonist who sings and cooks, but during the next 30 hours you will find a story as dark, deep, and twisted as the abyss. "My story will become your own, and yours will become mine. You will live my life through my eyes, and you will learn the truth."
I own the game and physical soundtrack, and backed Alec's (half of the creative team) new game, Night in the Woods, on Kickstarter, based purely on the strength of Aquaria. I purchased the iPad version for two friends as gifts, and would buy it again here, just because.
Would be an excellent addition to the GOG collection.
One my favorite games of all time.
Beautiful 2D graphics, intuitive controls, fun exploration, fun battles, and most of all a very immersive atmosphere (in no small part due to the magnificent soundtrack)!
It's hard to believe this is an indie game that was made by 2 guys without any external funding... It has more diversity and total game length, and definitely a lot more "soul", than many of the AAA titles that are being churned out by big publishers these days.
It would definitely make a worthy addition to the GOG catalog. (And don't forget to add the soundtrack as a separately downloadable add-on; it really is that good.)
Beautiful game, just tried it from the Humble Indie Bundle. Definitely deserves a spot in GOG.com
A great metroidvania, in an unusual environment. With a well balanced difficulty, a high replay value, a deep story and stunning graphics, Aquaria is a game of choice for all kinds of players.
Aquaria is a great game. Excellent graphics (2d) and music ( I actually own the OST that is sold separately), interesting environments, a clever core mechanic using recipes and music notes to perform certain special actions or transform to creatures and adapt to the requirements of each environment or puzzle. It is also a good story with a very good feel to it (for the most part) -I'd love to see a continuation of it, even though that seems highly unlikely.
It will certainly be a good addition to the gog.com catalogue.
One of the best metroidvanias out there! Get on this GOG!!!
Visually stunning: I would like to have it on my GOG shelf.
Already own this one from one bundle or another. Beautiful and fascinating game.
Beautifull game and story.
A beautiful game that definitely deserves a spot on GOG.
I played this game a bit at a friend's home and I liked it at once. :)
Aquaria should get much more publicity because it is beautiful and amazing, and I really hope the devs get back together to make a sequel.
Aquaria is a gorgeous game that deserves to be on GOG!
I also own this game already, however it deserves way more attention for others to find out about this beautiful metroidvaina-like gem. I think it would be a great addition to the GOG-catalog.
It is an excellent game there never got the publicity it needed, so please do bring it to GOG. It is currently only available through steam (their own store option is down) and it would fit perfectly with the GOG spirit.
Haven't played it, but it looks great. A bit more than I want to spend at the moment, but it would be awfully convenient to have it here, and it'd probably be insta-buy if it ever hit ten bucks. There isn't enough underwater stuff out there.
Hey! Why can't I vote two times (once per copy I'm gonna buy)? This is unfair! :-)
I'll buy two copies in addition to the one I have, I promise :-) It's one of the most beautiful games I've played.
I already own this game, but it deserves to be here for others to find. I agree, the art and soundtrack are fantastic, and the game is very enjoyable.
