The early Worms games are a true PC gaming treasure. Some came to consoles, but they never felt right anywhere but a good old PC. While Worms 1 showed Team 17 had strong gameplay mechanics and a great idea going for them, Worms 2 laid the foundation for their core games (Armageddon and World Party). Enjoy both the humor and the tactics of this turn-based yet real-time strategy game.

Worms 2 is a great game in itself but it has since been dethroned by the semi-sequels Armageddon and World Party.
I'd give Worms 2 a lot better rating if I didn't know about the absolutely king-of-a-game entries that were to follow this game. Worms 2 has less weapons, no utilities (low gravity etc), worse single player campaigns, worse graphics in the form of low resolution ofread more 640x480, less space for modification of game rules and generally, undeniably, mindblowingly, less freedom for customization than Armageddon or WP.
I am quite certain that GOG will later add the best in series (in my opinion), Worms Armageddon, to its catalogue. Armageddon combined with the magnificent community patch will make Worms 2 utterly obsolete. Unless you are a die hard Worms fan and can't wait a second longer to blow some worms from here to eternity, just wait for the next games in the series.

This is my first, and really first game for my PC. When i was a kid i got for my birthday a PC (200Mhz processor with 32MB RAM - later 64) and a game called WORMS 2. This game grew with me, i play with my friends all the time.
For those who whine that does not have multiplayer....hey, what about 2 player on 1 screen? I mean at 1997 there wansnt so much multiplayer games, we playread more on one screen or one game split screen. I wont miss multy or lan...if i want to play i will call my friend/friends to come and we can play on one screen like old days.
But ok, since this is the internet era...they could add multy or at least LAN.
But overall i give 4 stars, it would be 5 if it had LAN or multy. Its a must buy game
