This game is truly unique. If you're in the mood to live out your hacker fantasies and cause havoc on a global scale, there is no better game.
Gameplay: The only word I could use is thrilling (sometimes terrifying!) First off, you only have one "save" slot for a particular "character" (a login). If you are arrested or caught, the game will DELETE your save. That means, NO TAKEread more BACKS, no SAVE SCUMMING. This makes the game unbelievably tense the whole way through. And if you make a mistake, you may not be made aware of it until some minutes later; you feel the sense of ALWAYS being on your toes!
Music: Amazing. I still listen to the soundtrack today. It's haunting, cool, and melodic and fits really well.
Graphics: Minimalistic UI-based interface from where you check emails, perform various hacks, and trace your connections around the globe. Nothing to write home about, but fits this unique game perfectly. The game does take some artistic liberty with certain terms (gigaflops, and so on)

Uplink is a game where you start off as a fledgling hacker and work your way into a world wide conspiracy. The story line is optional however. You choose what you want to do. You can upgrade your PC and get better hacking software. You break down firewalls and intrude upon networks. You can even hack the banks! There is a newer hacker game out: Hacker Evolution, but it pales whenread more compared to the simplicity and open-ended nature of Uplink. If you ever wanted to be a hacker this is your game.

this game is like nothing I've played before. you should understnad that the whoke interface is almost textual, which might take some time to get used to. no graphic effects, to explosion, only boxes filled with data that you will click and drag.
you play as a hacker who connects from his own (your own) computer to a gateway and works from there. stealing and deleting data whileread more reading and being integrated in global conspericies.
this game will make your heart race as you wait for a file to finish copying before the trace on your location is completed. it's a great game, really is, a bit repeatative but engrosing. and if you'r not afraid of new experiences, you should try it
