Play one of the original computer adventure games

Zork is one of the original computer adventure games, and forefather of many that would follow. That alone is no reason to buy it 30 years later. After all, similar things could be said about Pong. But if you have any interest in this type of game, then Zork not only offers you insight into how it all began but
also is a particularly well executed member of the genre, with superbread more storytelling and a wonderfully detailed
game world - if you make the effort to imagine it :)
For completeness' sake, it has to be said that the Zork 1 through 3 titles have previously been offered as free downloads by the copyright owner. Buying them on GoG is not the only, or cheapest option you have. However, these games are well worth the price that GoG asks for them, and you could always consider it an investment into GoG. ;-)
This package contains the MS-DOS versions of the included games. They are run through DOSBOX. They will work in DOSBOX on other platforms than Windows, and they will work without DOSBOX in other interpreters that can execute Infocom Z-Code, such as Frotz. Please note that Zork Zero does not include MGA graphics, and some interpreters have to be configured to use the CGA or EGA files.

The Original Text Adventure

Zork is impressive in that it can actually feel like an adventure into the unknown despire having little to no graphics. It's little more than interactive story telling, but it can draw you in if you're patient. This series should only be played for nostalga. If you don't like text adventures then you won't like Zork. However, it's a great adventure and if you're willing to give it a chance, it can be great fun. Stay in the light GOG!

Still the finest adventure games ever

Read the title. If you fancy some migraine inducing, but still possible and clever puzzles, completely off-beat and frequently hilarious writing with a curiously interesting and involving storyline then buy these. Even without graphics or any gameplay more involving than typing in a small set of commands these are still some of the greatest and most involving games ever. Hopefullyread more GOG will take advantage of the rest of the Infocom lineage; a huge library of excellent text adventures and some bizzare graphic adventures would make excellent aditions. Those, and Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis and Zork: Grand Inquisitor - such a weird set of games that they all must be played at least once.
