Ubisoft proved with Rayman 2 that platformers can be done right even on the good old PC, before Rayman 2, we could only drool over N64 impressive library of games such as Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie. I salute Ubi for Rayman 2 and even after all these years the game still looks and plays fantasticaly especially due to the fact that there are simply no "regular" platforming games left.

Rayman 2 is easily the best 3D Platformer on the PC. This version of the game was released at the same time as the N64 version, of which the two each being the very first release of this timeless game being released at the same time.
The Amount of fun this game packs is hard to measure, this is alot to do in it, the level design and variety is incredible, you will never feel likeread more your doing the same thing over and over.
The control is unsurpassed in terms of 3D Platformers. Rayman's limbless body allows him more fluid movement then his competitors.
Ultimately this game is great, really, really great. And asking 6 dollars for it is a S-T-E-A-L with a capital everything.
Also note that this is the only version of Rayman 2 that will work on 64 bit systems, as the original installer on the CD was 16 bit and didn't work with the newer version of windows, this one does. Not sure of any problems that will arise from other issues as it was quite impossible to try Rayman 2 on 64 bit systems till now.

This game was one of the best games of it's time and it's still regarded as one of the best games ever made. Why?, well, in the first place, the controls were amazingly tight and the platform sections were fun with little to no frustration at all.
I can't belive how the graphics still hold up pretty well today, they were vibrant and colorful and with a lot of charm. Also, the charactersread more were quite memorable and charming, even if they didn't speak a real language (except on the PS1 version, were they did have real voices).
Honestly, I haven't played the PC version, I had the N64 version back then, but after a little research, the PC version is almost identical to the N64 version, except with smoother animations, tighter frame rates and much, much better textures.
I also saw in my little research that the PC version had some serious issues when trying to play it on a newer platform, like Vista or Win 7, so this is a God send of a release, with little to no hassle at all to start playing and even better with today's technology, with HD resolutions, fancy texture filters and anti aliasing, making this the definite version of this game.
On closing comments, this is a bargain of a release, my parents bought me this game at $50 back in the day, today this game cost you $6, not to mention it's completely DRM free and also, you get all the usual GOG goodies.
