Conflict desert storm is a light tactical shooter. It is not really that deep but you do have to think about the various situations you encounter, running and gunning will just get your squad killed.
Missions are quite varied and take place on largish maps. I remember that controlling your squad was a little clunky at first but once you get used to it the gameplay is pretty smooth.read more
It's not a stand out classic by any means but it's a pretty fun if you want a break from more complex games and enjoy shooters with a sprinkling of light tactics.

Its obvious from the reviews I am seeing posted here that there is little love for this game and my guess is this franchise. After all, what is there to love about this game? Setting aside any political differences people may have, the graphics did not age well (nor were cutting edge at the time of their release.) The gameplay was also a bit archaic. The story? Well, lets faceread more it. Its atrocious.
Why even bother publishing the game then right? The one saving grace this series had was its co-op. I am not saying it was the best co-op ever published. I am not saying that the co-op will even stand the test of time. But this game came out at a time where co-op was a pipe dream for most developers...a wishlist item at best. For that reason alone I played this shooter over other more eminently qualified shooters.
I am not saying this will forever be a classic. But I do think it qualifies for "Good Old Games" classification for the same reason everyone puts "007: Goldeneye" up for classic shooter status: at the end of the day it was fun with friends.

This is a solid 3rd-person shooter with tactical elements and fairly high degree of authenticity. You'll be using real weapons and completing real missions taken straight from the 1991 Gulf War.
BTW: Do yourself a favour in ignore the 1-star troll raters who seem not to actually rate the game but rather GoG's decision to release this game instead of whatever game they were waiting for.
