The Lord created Chaos, and divided it in two parts, the Light and the Darkness. He gave to them life and thought, and so were born the Spirit of Light and the Prince of Darkness. But the Prince held the unspoken desire of supplanting his Father. He learnt in secret the language of Creation and tried to create a new being. But the new born would not accept the commands of the Prince of Darkness, and growing stronger, took part of his own essence and created terrible monsters and demons. The Lord and the Prince of Light tried to stop it, and they waged a great war. Gradually the being was weakened and finally defeated, but after this the Father was exhausted, and withdrew into the depths of the Universe. But all that was long ago... Now, something strange is happening. The signals are clear. Foul creatures are awakening from their dormancy, and spreading terror and destruction... The Darkness has returned, and the end is near. A new hero is needed, a chosen one who will wield the Sword, and destroy the Enemy forever...

This is one of the games that has a very hard accessibility but ones you managed to learn how to move around and fight you will be rewarded with a very intense experience.
It is in every aspect the predecessor of Dark Souls if you will. It is the journey of a hero against all odds. It is hard and you will die, lots of times. But still you press on because you want to see what comesread more next.
The story is well executed, even if it's mostly standard by todays expectations . It's a perfect Dark Fantasy setting in a fascinating world.
But the real gem is the combat system! It's the typical move and hit style you see in so many other games. It's a combination of standard moves and special attack. Every weapon has one special attack and there are a couple of basic attacks that comes with each type of weapon. You have to use key combinations to execute these attacks. It is rather hard to master but it's rewarding, it's even fair once you know how to handle each weapon.
And the result is a perfect combat system that you simply don't see these days. It is also a brutal game, heads will fly and you literally chop up every opponent into pieces. But it feels so damn great to win a battle, every single time. :)
This is a game that really deserves a chance! I loved every second of it back when I played it.

My first steps with the game were complaining about the controls... all was "weird", graphics were awesome but the game was too complicated... a month later i finished the game 4 times, with each character...
Blade still has one of the hardest learning curves, but one of the better, if not the best... sword combat gameplay ever in a videogame.

One of the most important Spanish videogames.
This game is a very deep and challenging hack and slash like no other.
The combat keeps you always focused, even against common foes. The levels have a very good design and the whole game is gorgeus.
If you like games like Dark Souls give it a try. It is not THAT difficult, but that is because you can save anytime!
