Overview:

Over 40 years ago, the goddess Valdis was killed by her daughter, the dark goddess Myrgato. Since this event Myrgato has been at war with her twin sister, Alagath the goddess of light. This perpetual war is fueled by human souls that the gods use to create their warriors; Myrgato twisting souls into demons, and Alagath manipulating souls to create angels. Each day the remaining human population dwindles as they are forced to choose a side or die.

Assume the role of Wyatt in this Action/Exploration Platformer as you explore the ruins of a holy city that was lost many years ago. There are many customizable skills and equipment that will aid Wyatt on his journey.

"Metroidvania with RPG elements"? Can't say it better myself!

Posted on 2013-11-06 09:01:43 byhansappel's avatarhansappel:

The trailer presents the game as a "metroidvania with RPG elements", and I really can't describe the game better myself. You walk around in a beautiful world, no retroish deliberate crudeness here. If you get lost and have to backtrack, you have to kill the respawning enemies again, but you don't care as that means you get their xp and drops one more time! Hint: Use the map if youread more get lost!
The game is really deep (no pun intended, as the game takes place in an underwater city!) and so are the RPG elements. There's the usual skills and attribute points to distribute as well as a karma metre. Okay, it's not that deep for a conventional 3D or isometric RPG, but for a platformer it is!
Have I found anything I don't like? Well, that usual jumping grunt that has plagued the world of video games since Quake I could do without!

Amazing action & superb music

I bought this game through their site a few months ago, and to put it simply, it rocks. It may sound exaggerated, but an excellent soundtrack, challenging but rewarding action, terrific scenery and great boss fights justify it all. If you love the 16-bit and early 32-bit 2D graphics, buy this game, you won't regret it.

great old schoold action rpg

i think i'm about a bit more 50% of the game (maybe a lot more, i cannot tell, i managed to beat about 10 bosses)
gameplay needs to be quite precise, and may be frustrating, but with a few hours, you should get the grip of it. But you still rage of being thrown out of a platform :)
remember, when you need precision, use directional pad, not the thumbpad...
you have a lot of choiceread more of character development, which is really great.
the game is beautiful, you feel that a lot of work has been put into game design & graphics.
Only complaint for now, the map. The map is crappy, which is a shame for a castlevania like game.
*special exit like a red door, are never colored. The map just tells you, there is an exit from this room. For secret inside room, you'll have to backtrack manually.
*you cannot parse another section of the global map but the one you are in
*connections between maps, are not mapped nor listed :) if section A leds to B & C, i've got no other way than memorize it. Which i don't. I have to walk through the whole world to find it again.
very compelling game though, i'll say 4.5/5, because of the bloody map.
