There are few games that truly deserved to be called a Masterpiece. This game is one these rare titles. The controls are very precise and there a quite a bit different skills you can use to overcome the many challenges in the game. And the combination of fighting, solving puzzles and moving through the levels is not perfectly executed but also very entertaining. There is a lot toread more discover and a lot of the puzzles have different solutions. It is truly a very polished game. But there is more! Gorgeous graphics, fantastic music, world that feels like a fairy tale, quirky humour, interesting heroes and villains. I could go on and on but it's simply best if you find out yourself why this game is a masterpiece. So buy it and have fun!

When I first got this game I played through it once or twice... every evening for a few weeks. The true test of a game is to pass that initial obsession and this is one of the few that managed to do that.
First we have the atmosphere. You enter a fairytale and never want to leave. Then we have the gameplay. After the first playthroughs the story isn't what keeps you in. It's theread more gameplay. You can instantly switch between the 3 characters to do increidble things. Block incoming arrows with the knights shield, freeze enemies with thief's frost arrows, lift them up with the wizzard and watch them shatter at the ground. Or trap them in a box with the wizzard and charge them off a cliff with the knight.
The flipside is you can "cheat" all puzzles in multiple ways. Coming up with new solutions is very satisfying, but sometimes I wish it wasn't quite so easy to fly past everything. Play creatively and not power through and you will have a blast.
Adding to this is the coop. Laugh at eachothers mistakes, impress with creative kills and goof around with boxes and stuff.
As for negatives? Some skill combos feel a bit broken. Plank with charge and airshield for example. And then in expansion gravity field came. It's interesting but is abusable to tears. There is also no randomization of levels.
All in all it's almost a perfect game. Lots of room for creativity and scaling well with your skill level. Attention to detail and just solid magical fun.

Trine 2 the complete story is a beautiful game that surpasses the original in every aspect except one. Throughout every level are located chests which contain the best treasure of all .... pieces of a poem. No matter how many chests I opened I always felt my disappointment renewed.
Don't get me wrong - I love the higher challenge level, the better graphics, and the betterread more skill tree that trine 2 presents and would recommend it to anyone, especially in this package that includes all expansions. The game lacks a feeling of progression that the original game possesses because there are no special items to collect, but does somewhat compensate with the more expansive skill tree.
