Titan's Souls
Fantastic with tight game play, however it is geared toward a very specific niche audience and I could not recommend this title to everyone. The game is very short and only offers one specific type of experience, puzzle-like boss fights that are insanely difficult. There is virtually nothing in between, making this a boss rush game similar to Shadow of the Colossus. Pros - Challenging, rewarding boss fights - Fluid control scheme - When you die it feels like you made a mistake - Stylized graphics look great - Clever hints during "puzzle-fights" assure you won't have to look up a guide Cons - Very short, 4-7 hours depending on skill level - Zero game play variety, what you get in the first minute is what you get period - Instant death can be frustrating, unforgiving like an old-school NES title Final Thoughts All in all I had a good experience with Titan's Souls, but the fact that the core game play loop remains completely unchanged through the game is a big point to consider. If you aren't enjoying yourself immediately after starting up the game, you won't like it at all, because there is nothing else here. I highly recommend you try the demo version on Steam before considering a purchase.
