Set in the near future, "Three Minutes To Eight" is a mind-bending pixel art adventure game that breaks the mold by introducing an intriguing twist: the protagonist is destined to meet their demise at precisely 07:57 PM. However, hope is not lost. It's up to you to unravel what lies beneath, uncover secret paths, find ways to cheat death, and unlock multiple endings.

Each run is distinct, with randomized elements and unique events, urging you to revisit the game multiple times to discover all its hidden mysteries. Find yourself in an ever-evolving gaming experience, mimicking a borderline state of mind that teeters on the edge of consciousness, where everything is possible yet remains elusive.

A decent point & click timeloop story

A decent point & click timeloop story. Pixel graphics are nice, voicework is decent, though I could have done without, but I understand the necessity in today's day and age. - I wish dialogue text showed instantly and was skippable, as many dialogues repeat a lot - I wish protagonist could remember conversations they already had in earlier loops (same way they remember they are in a timeloop). Instead, you have to re-learn everything you already learned from talking to people which gets *very* tedious for figuring stuff out - being able to keep an inventory items instead of remembering everything you did doesn't make much sense to me either Overall well worth the low price, and mood and presentation is really nice, but it takes some hardnosed patience to get through this and keep having fun while at it.

Very clever point & click game

As a fan point & click adventures especially old school games from sierra this game was perfect for me, I really enjoyed the game, there were frustrating moments (ofcourse) in the game but the feeling when you finally manage to solve it was fantastic. The game have multiple endings, and after you manage to achieve one you obsessively want to find out all of them. The developer made this game very clever, when you see the number of characters and number of rooms in the game you think at the beginning what else could be here, but at some point game unravels and you have to be very smart and clever to find out about all secret options, or easter eggs, you have to think out of the box, which is exactly what the developer did with this game. Well done and kudos to the developer to create such unique and fun game in adventure genre. 5/5

Pretentious

I am quite disappointed with this game. I won't be mentioning all the good stuff (which it as) because others already talked extensively about it. Although the premise is good, and the artwork is decent (not great, though)... it ends up being a subpar & frustrating game: - Gameplay becomes truly annoying. I understand having to go through the loop, but not being able to skip almost anything makes it utterly boring & annoying at the same time, which has some "merit". - The amount of available scenarios is incredibly small: 11, with many of them being small rooms with almost nothing in them). - Although I'm a big fan of multiple endings... I truly hate what they did here. Each one of them is completely inconsistent with the others, changing the meaning of everything we have experienced through the gameplay in previous rounds. It's not like we explore different consequences for different actions, NOPE. - Some people are using the word "clever" as an adjective for this game. I dissent. When you remove all rules & constraints, all it's left is hand waving improvisation. Everything can happen, everything is possible, so you can have as many crazy plot holes... it doesn't matter. Your story can be truly bad and it doesn't matter because you can magically "fix" it.

Mystery in Pixels

If you're a fan of pixel art, engaging voice acting, and clever storytelling, Three Minutes to Eight is a hidden gem that you might just enjoy. From the moment you start playing, the charming pixel art style draws you in, creating an atmospheric world full of intriguing characters. The voice acting is top-notch, adding personality and life to the already compelling narrative. The story itself is ingeniously crafted. There’s this sense of progression where you feel like you’re getting closer to the truth with every interaction and choice you make, and I love that feeling of slowly piecing everything together. The game does a great job of keeping you invested, and it’s satisfying to watch things unfold, even if you’re only one step closer each time. Gameplay is simple and easy to pick up, which means you can focus more on the story and less on complex mechanics. It’s a great balance, and for casual gamers or those who just want to immerse themselves in a good story, Three Minutes to Eight fits the bill perfectly. That said, there are a few things that can be a little off-putting after a while. The repetition, especially in the interactions, can become a bit dull. For example, hearing “The end is nigh!” for the hundredth time starts to wear thin. While the game does a good job of keeping you hooked, there’s definitely a point where the repetitive dialogue can detract from the otherwise engaging experience. Overall, Three Minutes to Eight offers a unique blend of storytelling, easy gameplay, and pixel art charm that’s worth checking out, even if some of the repetition can get a little grating. It's a game that's best enjoyed in moderation, especially if you're a fan of slower-paced narrative games with a retro aesthetic.
