Susan Ashworth, known in her neighbourhood as the crazy Cat Lady, is a lonely 40-
year old on the verge of suicide. She has no family, no friends and no hope for a
better future. One day she discovers that five strangers will come along and change everything. But those five, "The Parasites", are also the most ruthless, deranged and cold-blooded bunch of psychopaths the city has ever known. They will stop at nothing to hurt Susan. Unless, she hurts them first...
Susan's few weeks journey doesn't take her across the world and won't turn her into a hero. She has little faith in others and hardly even cares about herself. She can't fight and has never fired a gun in her life. But she's hanging onto that thin thread of hope, that in the end, as promised, there's an elusive reward waiting for her. Something worth trying for. Something that'll help her find an unlikely friend. Something that'll give her life a purpose. Susan's journey takes her on a roller-coaster ride between the world of the living and the world of the dead, where the only way to survive is to overcome her biggest weakness: her own self.

I know I'll sound fanboyish, but this gem is truly worth it. I don't remember being so immersed in any game since Planescape: Torment (and that was 14 years ago... I feel old). It's a story of depression and restoration, friendship and betrayal, love and cruelty - all painted in red with classic horror themes. If you are a psychological horror fan - buy without hesitation. If you'reread more not sure - research, read reviews, see it in action in the demo or in Let's Play and decide if it suits you (I know, it's not for everybody).
Great addition to GOG catalogue and important position on my virtual shelf.
NOTE: The game can be really disturbing and is suitable for mature audience only.

I loved the Cat Lady. Whether you will love it depends on what you're looking for in a game.
The characterization in this game is outstanding. Susan is relatable, and her situation is intriguing, as are the other characters. The portrayal of depression doesn't resort to making Susan a stereotype. The gore is not cheap, but is used to evoke emotions including disgust and dread.read more There were times when I knew what was needed to progress but had to steel my nerves to actually do it. If you're in the market for a story driven and methodically building sort of emotional horror, then this game is your genre.
Now, this game has things that will put some people off. It's not a cheerful game. There's a lot of gore and some very dark themes. There is a strong age warning on it, and there should probably be some trigger warnings as well. Additionally the game is slow building, has a very simple interface, and the art/animation, though it has a very well chosen aesthetic that worked for me, runs the risk of looking inexpensive or unpolished. These things might be ok or even a plus for you, or it might put you off the game entirely.
For me, the choice of whether to recommend this title comes down to this. The Cat Lady will prompt you and give you a choice to feel a certain series of emotions, including fear, disgust, sadness, anger, dread, hopelessness and occasionally hope. If that is what you're looking for, then this story is worth your time.

This game just blew me away. I didn't expect much of it - I thought it's just a indie-game with cool style. How wrong I was..
The game has a really, really good story, which is almost relateable. The themes and things that are discussed in the game are shocking and really dark - still there's plenty of humor.
It's also remarkable that the game has so easy and simple controls - usualyread more indie-games go nuts with the UI.
And to top it all, the music and the voice acting are spot on.
A game rally worth while to play. It's enjoyable and you can't really fail in this game. I was really surprised how long this game is! Must buy from this decade
