About Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space
In this five-episode collection of interconnected cases, Sam & Max are back on the crime beat in a showdown with Santa Claus, a race to subdue a giant volcano, and a face-off with a Eurotrash vampire—and then things get even weirder. Hop into the DeSoto for a hilarious outing that won IGN’s Adventure Game of the Year award the first time around and now looks and sounds better than ever. Zombies will dance. Mariachis will sing. A giant battle robot will trash the streets. And when their friends’ lives are on the line, Sam and Max will risk their very souls to set things right.
About the Soundtrack
The Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space soundtrack is a 53-track extravaganza featuring over three hours of music from Sam & Max’s second episodic season. The Rapa Nui Choo Choo? Zombie rave classics? Mariachis?! They’re all here, along with many of the season’s scored cutscenes and eight all-new tracks written for the Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space remaster and performed by live musicians.

As others have said, the censorship changes to this particular game are perplexing, unnecessary and really eliminate much of the zing of the original. Millennials and Gen Zeroes, don't blame us Gen Xers for this stuff. Look in the mirror, you get what you ask for.
What you get with this game:
A modern milestone of the point-and-click genre that has ushered in a short lived new golden age of adventure games. Gone are the odd repetitions of Season 1, every episode has their own places to explore and characters to meet. Season 2 has a much more pronounced story arc and ends on two very high notes. I was and still am sceptical about episodic gaming on the whole, but Sam and Max Season 2 has sold the entire concept to me.
What you get with the Remaster:
Everything you could wish for in a Remaster ever. New control options, re-framed scenes for a more immersive sense of place and a more Point and Click feel, new character models to fit in better with Steve Purcell's original sketches (they reinstated the keychain in Jurgen's nipple ring, watch out for that). New emotion animations, character outlines, higher resolution of environmental details, some recreated assets. A new lighting system gives each episode much more of an original mood. Re-choreographed cutscenes, an estimated 20 minutes of new, fully orchestrated music by the original composer. Less compressed music and voices. THIS is how a Remaster is done.
What you don't get with the Remaster:
„Censorship“ of any kind. Even the pidgin speaking sea-mian Rastafarian cultists in Moai Better Blues are still there, unaltered and cringey racist as ever, if that's your cup of Banang (personally, I would have re-voiced those, sorry folks). Bosco's voice actor changed, but his lines remain the same (apparently Telltale Games became more culturally sensitive between 2006 and 2007 already, who would have guessed?). The original voice actor Joey Camen can still be heard a whole lot in at least three additional roles, one of which was „censored“ already in the original 2008 release.
What I'd like to add:
I happen to know that a GOG employee has explicitly asked the developer for Season 2 to release here. I'd just like to say to this gal or guy, you're awesome and thank you so much.
So glad that Beyond Time and Space got remastered! Season 2 is my favorite, and now it’s even better. Sam & Max has always had the special place in my heart - it's quirky and ironic sense of humor is marvelous.
It’s wonderfully done, and no content was cut this time around (the script is kept completely the same). The achievements are a little bit more challenging this time around.
There's plenty of love put into this remaster by its creators. All artistic choices like camera framing in gameplay, new characters’ models, new material added to cutscenes, lots of little details and even certain effects have been added to enhance the overall experience. They all make the whole experience more cinematic and funny and the world of Sam & Max really breathe!
Beyond Time and Space Remastered is definitely the best way to play this game! Newer visuals, an amazing soundtrack with some new tracks and overall, a fun experience of Season Two! Sam & Max - one of the best adventure game duo ever.
