Baby's First Commandos

I remember playing this game when I was younger and being instantly caught by it. Basically, it's just a Commandos game, with a few differences and easier difficulty. I was playing it in Russian, and I don't know jack Russian. That's how fun it was. You still had stealth elements, however the game was not as unforgiving if you failed as the other games of the same type (including Desperados). I recommend this game to people as myself, who have always been somewhat intrigued by the Commandos series, but always sucked at it too much to actually pass the first mission. Don't expect anything revolutionary, though, and veterans of the genre will probably not like it as much, however it is a quick fix if you like these types of games and already finished the classics five times in a row.

Worth the $9.99

My initial reaction to the price was "why would they do this?!". But then I remembered all of the hours I got out of this brilliant little gem. I've beaten this game four times, and I come back to it every so often to beat it again. The art work is gorgeous, the gameplay can get addicting and the story, while cheesy, is enjoyable. This is one of my favorite games, and I recommend it to anyone.

Commandos for impatient people

Commandos game with better story and much more action-based. If you have no patience for quietly sneaking around and killing soldiers one by one, just forget it and go "Leeeroy Jenkins!" on them. This violates the core principle of Commandos-style games, but srsly, who cares as long it's a fun game? And I had fun playing it.

TOP TIER GAME

This game is truly one of the best adventure games out there - especially if you are a fan of Robin Hood. This is 2D graphics at its finest - the zenith of what "old games" have to offer in terms of beauty. Everything is highly detailed, and you feel immersed into medieval England as you sneak into multiple, populated castles and cities and use tactical maneuvers to get past guards. The game also has a nice ambushing system where you boost your economy by laying traps and intercepting armed supply caravans. Lastly, the combat is fairly awesome too, with Robin slashing his sword in the direction you move your mouse. 10/10 would definitely recommend if you love slow paced games with flair and character.

Decent Little Fiction-Based Gem

I first discovered this game in the discount rack at T.J. Maxx a few years ago, and it really is fun. Aside from the typical strategy elements, there is a mechanic for swordplay, in which you move the mouse in a particular motion to execute different moves. The price is a little steep at 9.99, but if you find yourself with some extra dosh, and don't mind taking a risk, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
