Renegade: The Battle for Jacob's Star

Played the original game, it was, back then, by far, coolest, best game i had the pleasure of playing. Start as wingman, take command when your leader bite the dust, fight your way trough a massive invasion. Your results in each mission can weight a lot in he entire campaign: if you fail to protect a transport, you may lack parts to repair your ships, lack new ships and pilots to replace the losses; fail to help your pilots, and you may end flying alone; pilots get both stressed and tired, you need to manage, cant always make the same better pilots fly. And much more! Some features cant even be found in nowadays space simulations, imagine how amazing this game was back then! Thanks GOG for bringing this pearl back to life.

Blast from the past

I remember this from my first PC. I still have the CD but could not get it to work. This works out of the box/download. Its actually aged remarkably well. The combat mechanics are Wing commander II era but the sound track is amazing - good laser sounds and a killer techno battle music. It's better than I remember it because I was playing on low memory hardware so this runs beautifully. For a game of its age the graphics are low resolution but the game play makes it a fun mission based space fighter shooter. Not as good as X-wing from the same era but a worthy legacy space fighter game. It's also set in the FASA Renegade Legion universe which makes it unique.
