Description
You are a child of the dread Queen of the mighty empire of Haven. Alas, your life of happy luxury has been stripped from you. The Queen, your mother, is desperately ill, so you have been forced to travel to the savage Rokaj. It is a poor and brutal land of warriors, constantly prone to rebellion.

You find yourself in the middle of a vicious power struggle, between your masters back home and the raiders and assassins of the wilderness. A rebellion is brewing. If you can’t prove yourself and master the wild Ro, it will be a bloody disaster. Can you take control of your Empire’s lands? And what will you do with them once you have it?

Explore a vast nation full of cities, forts, and dungeons. Fight clever, carefully designed turn-based battles. Deal with misbehaving vassals with bribery, diplomacy, or violence. Build new forts and customize them, choosing among upgrades that give your adventurers powerful bonuses. Experience with other Queen's Wish games is not necessary to enjoy Queen's Wish 2.

Queen's Wish 2: The Tormentor features:
  • Epic fantasy adventure with over 50 hours of gameplay.
  • Open-ended story in the barbarian lands of the Rokaj. Make the choices you want, and enjoy the terrifying consequences.
  • Suspenseful tactical combat. Select from sixty different abilities. Build and rebuild your warriors to face rapidly changing foes.
  • Gain strength with a unique fortress system. Build and equip fortresses. Customize your Empire to gain power or please the locals.
  • Explore (Conquer?) an enormous outdoors and a huge variety of dungeons and enemy fortresses.
  • Not just orcs and elves. Explore one of the fascinating, detailed worlds that make Spiderweb Software adventures unique.
  • Over 100 quests and hundreds of magical artifacts to hunt for.

Enjoy a new adventure from Spiderweb Software, now celebrating 28 years of making fine indie fantasy role-playing goodness.

decent fun RPG with some management

Jeff Vogel is a legend in the indie community. He has been making indie RPG's since the early 1800's or so. This is by no means his best, but is a solid, fun game (RPG with some management added on) if you can get past the non-existent graphics and sound. P.S. To get it to work, the guaranteed way is to select the highest graphics setting you can show and then run it in a window.

Low Budget, High Quality

If you've played a Spiderweb Software game before, you know what you're looking at. Low-budget art assets, tile-based maps, not much in the way of sound or music. But what you do get is story and text, and a lot of it. Continuing later from the first game, and letting you import some of your decisions from it, you're thrust into another 'get this unruly province under control' mission. If you liked the first game, you'll like this one too. The game has been streamlined, however, in good ways. The fort-building mechanic returns, where every upgrade you set either gives you an upgrade or upgrades the equipment you can acquire at your base, which is important because the best non-accessory equipment is bought, not found. It's easier to manage theft this time around, if you're careful. The biggest change, and improvement in my mind, is that rather than supporting one of two factions in each region, you're managing respect and opinion on three axes. What do the natives think of you, what does the Royal Family think of you, and are you seen as violent or quiescent? All of them will have major effects in the game; and oftentimes making the "morally right" choice will hamstring you. You're royalty, you have to play politics to get ahead. You have to make the choice between doing the right thing for a couple of people, or being effective at changing the course of an entire nation. There's a new weight to the feeling of what you do. If you're interested in a game with intrigue, where you can make decisions that have both long- and short-term consequences, even if you can't see them from the start. If you don't mind lower-quality art assets, and walls of text explaining what is occurring instead of long cutscenes, this might be for you.

Adventure, exploration, combat, choices!

*I ran this game, full screen, on two PCs (win 10 and 11) with no issues. Choices matter. Combat has many viable approaches but can be very challenging at times. There's a great sense of exploration revealing the map and delving into dungeons and ruins. The plot is solid from start to finish. Puzzles are infrequent but interesting. Play if: you liked the exploration of early Zelda games, the turn-based combat of various 'Tactics' games, any of the other Spiderweb games; or simply want to romp around a high fantasy world as an elite adventurous royal with their assistants. Don't play if your tastes require modern graphics (Nothing wrong with that preference, but QW2 is more like early 'RPG Maker games)

Spiderweb Games - Good Fun

This is just like every other Spiderweb game, and that's not bad. Good story, with lots of lore. Simple but engaging combat. Base building is a nice addition. If you like retro style RPGs this is your game. If you've played and liked other Spiderweb games, you'll love this. If you're looking for something that feels more "modern", you may not have much fun.

Does not even start

Playing on M1 Pro laptop. The game will not start at all. First Queen's wish game worked fine. I keep getting the same message of damaged file. Nothing I've done has been able to fix the problem. I'm not happy at all with GoG.
