This was one of my favorites racing games as a kid, and one of my favorites games from the 90's period. It's just got an exceptional atmosphere, awesome music, weird tracks, fun cars, and simple racing goodness. It's a pretty bare-bones game as far as racers go, but it more than makes up for it in aesthetics and "feel". I've been hoping to play this game on a newer PCread more for years, but it's almost impossible due to how the game looks for certain graphics drivers, DirectX versions and all sorts of crap. GOG to the rescue, this one works perfectly on every new Windows machine I've tried! Too bad the online doesn't work anymore, but that's to be expected since the GS went down long ago. There may be ways to get around it with extra software, but I've not tried it. Thankfully, the DLC works for this release, so you've got tons of new cars and tracks to install if you want! Also a good thing, since even though GOG claims this comes with the Back to Hell expansion, it does not. The three tracks and extra cars from BTH are not included in the current version available on GOG. You can install them from the website POD Phreak, if you want to (even though the tracks and cars/bikes admittedly suck). Whatever the case, this is just rad beyond rad. I love you, GOG and Ubisoft! Great game, buy it now because it's one-of-a-kind.

I apologice for my outbreak, but THIS release is more awesome than the previous weeks with all ths Ultima gems and other EA classics.
You may ask: Why? Why the excitement?
Because even if you have the original POD discs at home, it is a PAIN IN THE ASS to get the game working on a modern computer. Yes, it was all worth the hassle, because POD is one the most entertaining arcaderead more racers from the early days of graphic acceleration and Windows 95.
The look, the gameplay, the pulsating music, the apocalyptic atmosphere, the weird and crazy course designs, not to mention the cars ... POD has it all. I highly recommend it to, well, everyone who liked POD back in the days and want to play it again. POD! And no POS at all :)

My favourite futuristic arcade racer ever.
Tons of problems to make it run in one way or the other, even near release, and with several versions depending on what hardware you had, glad to see it here.
It's an arcade racer set on a distant doomed planet. In the "campaign" mode, a series of races to see who will become the champion and get the only ticket remaining outread more of the planet. Ok, the story is absurd, but no one plays racing games for the storyline. (hear me Codemasters?)
Lots of tracks, which you can also play in reverse, and cars, which you can also change their attributes as much as you like, within certain limitations of course so that you don't get a super in everything car. :)
You can play with or without damage, and even with "detailed" or more general damage model. No, don't think of a simulator type of damage, think arcade :)
The tracks and cars are beautiful. Even today. Very good design and absolutely awesome in all respects. Most (IIRC) tracks also have shortcuts, which don't always lead to the best way, so it is a learning experience.
Apart from championship (which IIRC is customizable too), you can also just play single races, time trials...
The feeling you get of each car is very different and, in a way for the setting, believable.
I don't know how else to say it, this is my favourite arcade racer and I am biased, but, buy this game, it is 100% worth the money.
