Mob Rule Classic

Personally, I enjoyed Constructor 2 (aka Mob Rule) more than Constructor. Constructor always felt like abit of a mess to me, and this actually gave you a campaign to work with. Not the perfect game, but I think if you shouldn't write it off straight away because of all the lower reviews on it.

Mob Rule is one of my favorite games. There's nothing that approaches it's unique flavor of managerial humor, with the possible exception of the original Constructor. In a way, they're different sides of the same coin: Constructor gives a fun, open-ended kind of game where the only set goals are the "victory" conditions. Mob Rule lacks that opened-ended play, but has a humorous story to progress through and some pretty decent interface and control improvements over the original. I started with Mob Rule, so I tend to like it better than Constructor, but I highly recommend both. *The Good* [] Good mix of managerial RTS-lite gameplay [] Humor that is always good for a laugh [] UI and control improvements over Constructor *The Bad* [] Play is limited to the "multiplayer" or the story [] Story conditions can be difficult if you do not progress smoothly

Since I first played this game 13 years ago or so I keep coming back to it because it's just crazy fun. I like mafia type game like "mafia" the game. This isnt really anything like that though. It is more like a RTS board game. Buy plots of land, build illicit establishments, and keep your rivals from moving in and taking over. Hire henchmen to take care of you dirty work, sabotage, kidnapping, street wars, bribery and assassination you can even use your thugs to take over your rivals properties. I like being able to upgrade your gangsters weapons start with a knife, then upgrade to pistol, shotgun and finally the classic Tommy. I didn't give this game 5 stars because it is not perfect and can be insanely frustrating. And being that it plays like a RTS it really needs to be able to be played multiplayer but it is unfortunately single player only. You will either love it or hate it, I guess. BTW I've never played constructor probably wouldn't like it since I enjoy the aspects of this game that constructor fans hate.

It's cute and you won't find a more charming organized crime game anywhere. Although it does get very, very difficult very quickly. Though that's not bad if you like a challenge. It's unfortunately rather short. And there's no free-play mode to the best of my knowledge.
