Description
Mhakna and Sebiarno have seen better days. Their orphanage is run by a cranky old lady, who will turn the two into animals and sell them in the city if they do not find a foster parent by the age of 10. With a little help from a Fairy called Bell, they escape to Enles Land, a kingdom of eternal happiness for children, leaving their former lives behind. Here, they meet other children just like them. But little do they notice... something is amiss in this utopia for children.

Started as a project commemorating the “fault series” selling over 300,000 copies worldwide, “Mhakna Gramura and Fairy Bell” is a spin-off Cinematic Novel produced with newcomers in mind. Reading through the original fault series is not necessary. Styled as a children's book with over 150 unique pages of art drawn by Hare Konatsu and animated by Saketai, music scored by Foxtail-Grass Studio, and a story written by the series' author Munisix, “Mhakna Gramura and Fairy Bell” is a bittersweet children’s story about happiness and what it really means to grow up.

The story is about 90 minutes long and features no choices. Please do not purchase if this is not appealing to you.

An amazing visual novel!

Note: I have never played another Alice In Dissonance visual novel, I have read through this visual novel completly on it's own merit, it can absolutley be played on it's own and is extremly enjoyable This visual novel is one that must not be missed, the art and story in this novel are absolutley stunning, beatiful and unique and the story is interesting and meaningful The graphics are a sort of story book anime fusion and it works really well The music is excellent, varied and truly makes the mood where it's used The story is so much more than the childrens story that it may appear to be from the store page This visual novel isn't for everyone however, it is short (at about 90 minutes) which although I prefer this to longer novels it may not be for everyone, and during these 90 minutes you won't have any choices of any kind, just sit back and enjoy the excellent story, but if you like choices in your visual novels this isn't for you All in all this visual novel is a much play if your ok with the caveats of this novel, it is all in all an excellent and unique experience worth every penny of the low asking price

A diamond in the rough

This is a short visual novel (90-120 minutes) with no choices. In spite of its brief duration and linearity, it touched my heart. I'd like to replay it. At first the tone seems like that of a children's book, but the story deals with some darker topics, such as child abuse. There are some vicious characters, some kindhearted characters, and many characters who fall in-between. Figuring out which of those groups the titular Fairy Bell belongs to is one of the delights of this VN. The ending is strong. It leaves some characters' fates up to the imagination, but shows the consequences of the main characters' decisions well. This is one of the best-looking visual novels I've played. Unlike the vast majority of visual novels, it has no sprites (i.e. character illustrations that appear in front of backgrounds). Instead, the characters and backgrounds are depicted in the same images. The art style resembles watercolor paintings, children's sketches, and anime or manga. As for the music, I loved the more heartfelt pieces and would buy the soundtrack for them alone. During darker scenes, the music shifts to a dissonant (no pun intended), electronic style. I didn't find those tracks pleasant, but I don't think they were intended to be. I haven't played the Alice in Dissonance's "fault" series, so I can't say how many references this game includes to that. But having played this VN, I'm excited to look into the developer's other work, and I think that's one of the highest compliments I can give to a game.

A Fairytale for Adults

Never read through the Fault series before, but after this one, I just might want to! (And I'm not even that big on visual novels, either). Buy This If You: (1) Like the art style (2) Liked the music in the trailer (the rest of the soundtrack follows suit) (3) Find the overall premise in the description interesting (4) Can appreciate a short visual novel (about an hour-and-a-half, according to most esimates) The color palette made me wished I saved this one for Autumn-time! REALLY liked the soundtrack - even if it is short - found it very reminiscent of the Atelier series, and soundtracks from games by Nippon-Ichi; there was only the ONE track that was designed to be grating, for the plot twist near the end. NOT A SPOILER: You *MIGHT* think the plot twist near the end is a complete and total heelturn, but it's rather foreshadowed in the very beginning, when they explain why Mhakna's in the orphanage to begin with. Also, if you watch the trailer through to the VERY end, you see a malevolent silhouette amidst a intermittently flashing red and blue background...so you know it's going to get a bit grimdark and psychological for a few pages. The catharsis at the end was poignant and inspired, and a good reminder for us adults how to live life. With that said, we still get a happy ending and satisfying conclusion. Well-written, with plenty of little mysteries you just want to get to the bottom of - that actually get resolved - and makes its point rather well. After reading through it, you get an "Encyclopedia" that details each character's tragic back story in a page each, and definitions of terms unique to their world.

Some are moving

I seldom play GALGAME, but seeing the success of this game made me try it. The game is relatively mild, and it was just 90 minutes after it was completed. The style of hand-painted and fairy tales is like reading a novella fairy tale (although slightly bitter). In terms of music, although there are not many tracks, they all sound good. It is recommended to buy at a discount. In addition, the Gog version is more expensive than the steam version, which is very unpleasant
