Just a mess.

With only 4 minutes of play I can already tell this game is too bugged to be worth playing. Here is my experience with the game in full: I start up the game, I have mouse control on the main menu and it seems to work, navigate with the mouse to another part of the menu and suddenly the mouse no longer works to navigate the menu, its there but it just doesn't work anymore, I switch to use my keyboard and I manage to start playing the game. I get dropped into some sort of over world from which you can select which levels to play, the game struggles to run as everything feels very slow, I try to navigate my way around so I can select a level to play but I get stuck in a wall that prevent further movement or control of my character. I eventually manage to get myself unstuck but this is clearly a buggy game. I menage to get to the level select and start on level 1, which turns out to be a tutorial level where you learn the basics of the controls, the controls you already needed to know in order to get to the tutorial level in the first place. Somehow I get myself stuck in a wall again and guess what, I suddenly fail the tutorial level becuase this tutorial level has a time limit. Yes, the level that has signposts that you need to read on how to control the game has a time limit, if you don't finish the level before the time limit you get kick out of the level. At this point I've given up on this horribly buggy mess of a terribly designed game and exit to the main menu, and guess what, another bug happens when I get to the main menu because suddenly the mouse control that was once there now no longer exists. Do yourself a favor and avoid this game until it gets fixed, its not worth any price at this point. I would like to add that me getting myself stuck was nothing special, you just have to dash into any wall and you will find yourself stuck.

Gutterball

The evolved form of those trendy carved labyrinth games you find in souvenir shops since times wishfully forgotten, such as joined Marble Madness or Sonic Blast's supposedly more evolved brethren: Super Monkey Ball or such modern clones (Marble It Up, Percy's *blargh* Predicament, Paperball, Rolled Out, etc), but with the promise of fan service blissfully unfulfilled--the "art" appearing itself to have been donated or rather just plain hideous--for a game that hasn't even been optimized well enough to run on serious machines much less the required, in addition to the creators' inability to top this spazoid sundae with a less punny name, and you've less reason to play with this diddly doodle than I have to divide this massive sentence into two. Great, flaming tailspin.

Casual look

Seeing a video on gameplay this sort of reminds me of marble madness, labyrinth, and monkey ball with the exception you must clear the dust bunnies in a 3D maze. The MM & labyrinth play is interesting,

Indie Monkey Ball

If you rely on Good Old Games but need your Monkey Ball fix, this is fine for what it is. The bad first: Yeah, it's jank, leading to a lot of cheap deaths and misses. No cheevo support at this time, which is a bit unfortunate. Unlockable portraits could display the goals for which to unlock them. No in-game display/graphics options, which makes a display issue I'm experiencing towards the end of the playthrough difficult to troubleshoot. The good: A lot of indie charm, jank and all. The unlockable portraits remind me of the style of Flash animations from way back when, and the simplistic graphical design is charming. The game design just works for the most part, and the level design is all you can ask for. It's frustrating-yet-hilarious fun to take turns with likeminded friends on it. Would probably give it a lower rating without that 'multiplayer' element and if it was priced any higher, but for a $10 indie Monkey Ball clone with the charm it has, it does its job well enough.

Not that bad actually

Marble Maid is a game that promises lewds for visiting the levels and cleaning the dust bunnies. Based on the reviews I'd seen for the game I was expecting an unplayable mess. This is not the case. Do note that I am using an Acer Nitro 60 computer meant to run Cyberpunk 2077 smoothly so I did not notice any performance issues here whatsoever. The opening of the game says this is playable with a mouse and keyboard but a gamepad is preferred, so that's what I went with. The graphical quality is cheap for 3D but serviceable to represent all of the elements of the game you're expected to deal with. The model of the Marbel Maid herself seems relatively on-point other than how creepy it is that her eyes are so big and you can hardly see the whites compared to the size of the pupils and irises when you clear a level and see her victory animation. Her voices are very peppy and go-getter. The goal of the levels is to collect three dust bunnies and reach the exit, though there are five per level. The levels are short but sweet although flawed by the fact that some of them are copypasted with a darkness gimmick on them. There's also one secret level per world, their portals in tricky locations to find. Finally, I was surprised to see there were boss fights in this game with a dark clone of the maid herself at the end of each world, for the most part they were easy once I had them figured out but the last one is an endurance test. The quality of the art I found to be varying but almost always good at minimum. The kinks on display were quite vanilla to me though. Potential flaw, one of the worlds and art pieces can only be accessed if you own another game by the same developers that's a kart racer, but the text said "on Steam". If it's not here on Good Old Games, you might not be able to access either? I don't know for sure though... Overall I have to speak to the game being actually a fairly good romp if you get it for cheap. Just don't expect Super Monkey Ball quality.
