The masked protagonist must escape from a city ravaged by disease, by any means necessary. Starving and exhausted, he has begun to question how much of what he sees is even real. How to survive is up to YOU. Sneak through without firing a single shot, or kill everything in your path. Eat and sleep well, or resort to drugs to keep going. Search for survivors, or try to escape the city alone. Look after your mental health, or descend into madness...
Lone Survivor is an unusual mix of survival horror, stealth mechanics, adventure games, a virtual pet, a physical and psychological survival simulation and a truly interactive story. The player is encouraged to role-play and forget about the game's inner workings, while the story changes to match the player's actions. This is a game where your choices genuinely matter.
The Director's Cut Edition of the game now includes a great deal of new content, graphical and audio enhancements, and the two new endings and side quests also in the recent PlayStation© releases.

Lone Survivor is without doubt one of the finest horror games I've played. Normally, I take pixelated indie 2D sidescrolling games with a grain of salt, because I think they're oversaturating the game market. However, Jasper Byrne has really created something unique here. As other people have no doubt mentioned, it's essentially 2D Silent Hill. It has similar sound effects, a similarread more eerie and unsettling atmosphere, a bit of dry humor and self-awareness, and a solid story with lots of symbolism and ambiguity. I never thought I'd be scare of pixels, but goodness some of the sound effects and dark visuals make for a really scary time. The gameplay is solid, with interesting hiding mechanics and gunplay. Overall, a tremendous game with an incredible atmosphere and fascinating characters. Highly recommended.

Lone survivor is a pure old school survival horror in 2D, graphics are awesome and the atmosphere is just amazing,
Foggy, very dark and creepy plus bizarre = pure win :)
*no unlimited ammo and just a handgun to use, you need to hide from enemies, and you can lure them with meat or use a flare to avoid them
*Everything you do change your ending, from killing the enemiesread more to help npc or abuse the pills
*no unlimited or auto-regen health, you need food for health and you need to eat too periodically, you need to cook some of the food too.
*6 endings so there is a lot of reply value.
*Very scary and dark game with a great story too
*your home servers as a base were you need to save and sleep there, cook your food etc, and the mirror in your house servers a quick travel system.
*a little bit short (6-5 hours) but with a lot of reply value !!!
*the map is a little bit confusing
Lone survivor is a very complex and deep game, a must play for any fan of survival horror!

I found myself scrounging around for even the barest supplies, and taking medication to ease the tension and body aches. Near the end of the game I was irrational and running from everything that moved.
This game is brilliant. Even though I missed a very important character very early on, I was still able to finish the game, albeit much worse for the wear. Highly, highly suggested to fans of horror of any ilk, be it stories, games, or movies.
