I actually played through this game when it came out, and I've never understood the bad rap it gets. It's not that bad a game, provided that you're not a fan of the originals.
If you're playing this game after finishing the vastly superior Al Lowe games (including the pinnacle of the series, Leisure Suit Larry: Love for Sail), then you'll probably dislike LSL: Magna Cum Laude.read more It lacks the wit, the charm and the good design of its predecessors.
But it's also not all bad. There's some surprisingly good writing in this game, and some of the humor is actually quite solid. There are some good ideas in the design, too. What's unfortunate is that the game was created with the casual gamer in mind, and the weird fusion of adventure gaming and minigames doesn't gel too solidly.
Here's what you can expect while playing this game: a lot of repetition of a minigame where you pilot a sperm through a series of lanes to try to get the bet conversational outcomes. If you make too many mistakes, you fail the conversation and you have to start over. If you succeed, you'll miss out on some of the more clever writing as you find yourself paying more attention to the minigame than the onscreen action. This game was launched before quick time events became all the rage on consoles; had it arrived a couple of years later, the casual interactions would have likely been replaced with timed button presses.

Bad news everyone! This is not adventure at all. Just arcade!
If you can’t deal with that, you really dislike this game. That not what you expected from Larry series. Just replay original games from Al Lowe once again and forget about it.
But if you can take the difference, this is not bad game at all.
Funny and colorful world. Pretty characters. Simple atmosphere. Flatread more gameplay with minimal quest elements, easy minigames and somewhat heavy QTEs.
But this is not bad. This is just simple arcade game for relax!
Otherwise this game is too sexy for your party. Please move along. There is nothing to see.

If you are going to get this, make sure its fully unsensored. I think when this came out, in some areas, if you wanted to uncensor it, you had to find an unofficial "patch" . Else you would actually see a black labeled CENSORED bar over their private parts. In the mime's case, that may be a good thing. Anyway, for the price, its a funny "story". It has no relevance toread more the original adventure games, and I don't think the original LSL author would even want to endorse this.
In short, this is a niche game. It is only fun if you like dark humor, sexual humor, and what some call " Mad Lib " conversations, that change on the fly with how well you are at playing minigames. For 5 or 6 dollars, its good for nostalgia alone. If it was censored, I would not touch it, so we will have to wait for more reviews to see if ALL parts of it is truely uncensored.
