But you and your friends vow to fight back. You find an isolated valley and build a base, a shelter for yourselves and other survivors you may find. Judgment: Desert Survival
Desert Survival is a free DLC that introduces a new, more challenging, game mode. In this mode you will have to not only survive the demon onslaught, but also the hardships of the desert. Getting food and water is much harder, scavenge and loot are harder to come by in this desolated area, and only a small portion of your base is fit for planting and farming.
The Outposts
The Outposts is a free DLC that adds resource nodes to the world map, and lets you build outposts to exploit them. You can then build gatherers and other buildings in outposts, and assign survivors to them to gain resources and other bonuses. The DLC also increases your total survivor limit when you assign survivors to outposts.

Placement of buildings and resource gathering is not unique. So far not as complex/varied as Rimworld. But it surpasses most mobile games.
Different setting. Its a Demon Apocalypse.
Characters that join you can have unique perks that give them a huge boost in certain tasks.
There is a simple top down turn by turn combat system. Includes Weapon, Armor, and consumable equipment. This includes Magical items and Mechanical ones. Theres a lot of custimization here for a town builder.
The graphics are basic. "Art style" these days is just an excuse for bad graphics. But if your focused on gameplay this is NOT a big issue.
It has potential. Kenshi and rimworld still beats it IMHO. $10 is a good risk so far as of 12.09.2019
Overall this is a great game but the more I play it the more I get annoyed with it. It just gets harder and harder and you might be thinking "That's great!" but the way it gets harder is really just tedious.
I'll be positive first of all, game has made me a little cranky.
The visuals and music while simple are great, the base building mechanics are again pretty simple but they work just fine. I love the Defence Plan system, you can basically set what each character does in the event of an attack. Then at the hit of a button they all get in position ready to defend the base, it's pretty awesome.
It feels like unless you play the campaign a certain way you have almost no hope of succeeding.
I got right to the end recently but I hadn't unlocked a couple of research upgrades I had no idea would be important, just for collecting some random resources. Which meant spending hours trying to collect them, while being assaulted by increasingly difficult waves of demons.
It's one of those games where you just kind of hit a wall and can't really improve fast enough to surmount it. The biggest pain with this is the very limited task force size, only being able to take 7 survivors on missions where you'll be fighting 30+ enemies almost as strong as you is frankly ridiculous, the UI looks like there should be 2 more even but nope, 7 is all you get.
Couple this with the random map layouts and it can be super hard to make an effective strategy.
It's also absolutely not a game you would enjoy permadeath with, if you failed a mission so hard you lost 7 good survivors you would probably not be able to finish the game at all.
The AI is also really not pleasant, Demons will attack whoever is closest to them which means one person will get ganged up on and unless they can sprint they have zero chance of survival because enemy ranged attacks almost never miss and track you once launched.
It's a good game mostly but I'm glad I got it on sale. I hope future titles are more fair.
Overall, that's a good hit. One survival game that succeeded into hooking me up. Probably thanks to the demons setting. Also, because things are going pretty fast. Even though the research tree can be big and the map a bit too large, it goes fast. You gather things fast, you research fast, you improve your lads fast.
And the difficulty scaling is pretty ok if you go to areas where you're looking for loot that scale with your research level (meaning you have the right weapons level)
But... even if the story seems to be interesting, I couldn't manage to finish it. Mostly because as many survival games, it's too repetitive. And as you need to gather more ressources and harder ones to get, the end didn't come quickly enough to keep me hooked.
Basically, I'd say that if you're fond of this genre, it should be ok. The plot is decent, the game mechanics are decent, the music is nice, the number of character class, weapon to craft,... is enough.
If you're not into these kind of games, you may have the same problem as me to finish your first game.
A pretty cool mixture of base-building, sim'ing, adventuring and exploring in a demonic zombie apocalypse setting.
It can be a bit janky and clunky and the difficulty in certain instances can take you by surprise if you don't pay attention, but over all, it's a really good game.
Demons instead of zombies is very refreshing. The demon apocalypse is here and you must lead a group of ill fated survivors probably to their doom (at least in the first run). Challenging yet fair.
