GOLD Edition DOES come with every DLC!
As the title states, ALL of the DLC is included in this game, you just have to download the DLC individually after the game is installed. I have read negative reviews about that subject alone. Another issue some are having is the graphics are choppy, there isn't an issue with the game, it's all based on your video card, and how much VRAM it supports. If you are playing the game on max or ultra settings and do not have the recommended 6 GB of video ram, just turn down the settings to high instead, the game will naturally function much better. One last thing is the MAP system, I still have yet to find any positive or better way to navigate the island properly than just trial and error, meaning walking around until you stumble on the location you need.

Spiders' games get better each time
Played this off-and-on elsewhere. Each time I play a Spiders' game they refine what was lacking the last time. the graphics here are good, the story is tight, the decisions you make matter...but it's just missing something that doesn't make me attached to the characters. if their line of progress keeps up their next game will probably change the world lol.

A Solid Effort
So the game is not as close to perfect as my rating might suggest. There are some issues with the environment in regards to terrain stickiness, texture clipping, lighting et cetera. Maps are inconsistent, at times encouraging exploration while at others explicitly thwarting it. There are story issues where people who are killed in one instance (looking at you Brother Virgil) will pop up again alive and well -with friends and without explanation. It is also tonally inconsistent, with some rather surprisingly good writing at times featuring reactive, and creative elements while at other times it borders upon cliche and becoming frustrating inflexible. So four stars obviously seems too high? Except. . .Its fun. Its the first game in a couple years I have actually wanted to play a second time. I appreciated how every faction is flawed and has internal schisms brought about as a result of competing interests even where is common cause. The only real fault I have with the game is the respawning enemies. I understand why they incorporated them, but by mid game it became incredibly tedious clearing out packs of dog-bears which presented no challenge. It realizes enough of its potential to be worth the price of purchase but also holds the promise of better game from this developer in the future once they have a greater experience and budgets. Its not perfect, but is better than average. It is like a watered down Witcher 3 with one third the content.

An epic RPG that is perfect!
It's all around great.. visuals, sound, characters, skill system, combat system, exploration. This is my perfect game, alongside such original classics as Planescape Torment, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, etc. Combat system is simple and straightforward... and totally fair. What you can do, so can npcs & vice versa. I played a mage and was teleport-dodging around while flinging bolts and making explosions. It is simple, but effective and fun. The exploration of this island is WONDERFUL! Beautiful, vast and no need to run your ass off to travel; it has a baldur's gate like travel between areas system, as well as a campfire teleport location in many spots around the larger maps! The story is a slow burn, high payoff sort of thing with some surprises in store. Of course, if you are a veteran of hundreds of RPG's, you'll probably see a few of them coming. Loot boxes are all over the cities and often around open maps as well. These level with you, so you might get random crafting ingredients and a few coins or you might get a hat, etc that you'll use till the end game. Best of all, these respawn often when you are away for a bit and come back. The crafting system is simple and useful! Even if you never use bombs, there is at least one type which is used in a few quests. As a mage, I ended up going for the throw bombs section of the rogue tree at end game, when I already had all the mage abilities; this gave me a reason to use all those bombs I'd been finding in chests, etc. The characters can be surprisingly deep at times... one you'll think is an absolute shit can turn out to be a not bad guy and vice versa. You will make choices and they will matter. You are encouraged to play the good guy here and it works quite well. The ONLY thing I can think to criticize this game for is that fact that end game creatures get rather large hitpoints pools. Seriously, that's the only thing I can think of that is at all even slightly annoying!
