Monty Python's Flying Game
It may not be a renaissance masterpiece, but it still is a great point-and-click adventure game.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw all that he had made, and it was good. Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the gift of life, and the man became living.
'Ooops,' said God, seeing he had created a fool. But before he was able to remedy his error, man spoke;
'No backsies!' he chirped, and scuttled off into the forest.
Four Last Things is a point-and-click adventure game made from Renaissance-era paintings and public domain recordings of classical music. It is about sin, and the Four Last Things – Death, Judgement, Heaven and Hell – and strives to be intelligent and ridiculous in equal measures.
It's kind of like if Monkey Island had been made in 16th century Flanders, by a time-travelling Monty Python fanboy...
Pointing and Clicking – A traditional point and click interface, with a 'verb coin' interaction menu and a simple inventory from which you can drag and drop your preciously hoarded items.
Renaissance Artwork – Paintings by Hieronymus Bosch, Pieter Bruegel, Jan van Eych and many many more are brought together into one consistent world, in a way that is also as sympathetic as possible to the original works.
Classical Music – a soundtrack selected to fit with the style of the artwork. Music from classical composers such as Bach, Erik Satie, and Claudio Monteverdi will accompany you on your journey.
Sinful Behaviour – Although ungodly, sinning has become the new norm in your life. Travel the streets looking for devilish opportunities in the hopes of confessing each and every sin for salvation.
Nonsense – A style of humour reminiscent of the surreal, anarchic comedy of Monty Python. Lofty subject matter is treated with refreshing flippancy and gags about butts are taken VERY seriously. But rest assured, while some of the jokes may be ridiculous, the puzzles make perfect sense! (or at least adhere to a consistent internal logic)
Moments of Surprising Profundity – Actually, no... Don't read too much into it.

Genius idea, decent game
I loved the art style - the combination of classic art with ridiculous animation and some funny dialogue was just great. Similarly, the soundtrack consisting of short classical pieces (with funny musicians "playing" them on each screen) was a nice touch. I'd only wish the game was longer and there was more interaction. There's only few items you get throughout the game and most people/things you encounter serve no other purpose than your protagonist saying a thing or two about them, making the whole feel a bit like running between dead ends, looking for something that can actually be used in order to progress. Also, while there is a subtle cursor change (along with text line) to indicate interactive objects, the backgrounds (based on classical paintings) are so rich with detail that I still got tired to hunt for the last few towards the end and I used a walkthrough in a few spots. That being said, most of the puzzles were logical and quite easy to figure out. As a whole, this was a whimsical ride through a beautifully quirky (if rather small) world (very Monty Python-esque indeed!) that I'll be definitely happy to replay sooner or later :)
