Much Improved; Yuri Masterpiece
One of the best characters from the first game becomes the protagonist in this sequel. She's more interesting than most romance VN protagonists, mainly thanks to being somewhat socially intelligent and generally more emotionally restrained. The emotional and romantic moments in this game feel much more well developed and satisfying than most romances, because neither of our romantic leads feel like they are setup with a natural path to love from the start. The first game made some of the obstacles and relationship melodrama feel somewhat forced due to romance tropes and the personality of the protagonist, but the romance felt inevitable. This game sets you on a slow but steady path of two people developing a genuine understanding and mutual sense of affection, in a way that's much more true to reality, while still being "romantic," in the poetic sense, dramatic, and fullfilling for the reader. All the returning characters are at least as good as, if not better than the previous game. It continues to develop the plot of the first game, without getting sidetracked from the romantic story and characters that this sequel centres around. I give it two well earned kisses out of two.
