Eador is a universe made of countless shards of land drifting in the Great Nothing. Each of the shards is a little world unto itself, with geography and denizens of its own. The power over the shards is bitterly contested by Masters, the immortal beings mortals believe to be gods.
Take the role of the mighty Master and shape the destiny of Eador! It is in your power to deliver the world from ultimate destruction – or to choke it with an iron fist of tyranny. Eador. Masters of the Broken World is a turn-based fantasy strategy game, where the decisions you make affect the world even deeper than the battles you win.

First, let me start this review by saying that this title has much potential, *if* the developers continue to improve it which no one but they know if that will happen.
As for my review, while I had great hopes for this game, unfortunately it was rushed out in a very unfinished state. The 3rd beta just started about 3-4 days ago and there were many, many bugs, some of which wereread more fixed but many more were not fixed before release.
On top of that, we have several very large missing features, including Mutliplayer which is basically completely missing (they added combat multiplayer but no actual multiplayer or hotseat either one).
Check the forums here for a detailed list of all the missing features, buyer beware. My recommendation: Play Eador: Genesis for a month and then come back and see if they managed to patch this game worthy of an actual release. I have no idea why it was rushed out the door unpolished and incomplete, since there was no Publisher putting pressure on them.

The new graphic looks really really nice. Considering however, that the average user of gog.com might rate this the highest, the lack of new content makes me quite sad.
Even worse: the graphics-polish is really just skin-deep. There are NO improvements in regards of overview/better accessibility. The building in your Castle even got worse by keeping the infamous building-wheel..
Conclusionread more here: beautiful graphics - no change in gameplay.
One minor, but frustrating, flaw also is the combat speed. Even on highest setting the attack-animations take excruciatingly long.
Even though I really love the old music score, a few new tunes would not have been too bad. At least this still is Eador "2".
I did not feel too compelled to start a new campaign (there is no option to import savegames from Genesis), so I went for the only option left: Hotseat. But: the button is greyed out. Wth?
At that point i even felt betrayed by gog.com:
I preordered the game for release.
In forums all around the web you can read the Beta 3 is sceduled for today. Not the release as stated in the gog-game-info.
Furthermore there is not a single word in the description that this is "just" a remake.
If you are not into high-rez graphics but more into gameplay: Get Eador.Genesis - or keep playing it if you already are.
-Not a release version (bugs)
-No new content

Well, I guess my mistake is that I never knew it was a remake of Genesis. Since I've dug in to Genesis just recently thinking that MOTBW will continue the story I felt really down when I saw that most of the things that were in Genesis (icons, maps, STORY) just got copypasted into MOTBW. Of course if you play it without touching Genesis it would be great experience with animationread more and graphics - it's still a candy and it's tasty, but I've got the same flavour only the wrap is different.
