Description
Amy Haven went missing 5 Years ago. On the anniversary of her disappearance you, the Police The Inspector who failed to find Amy, have returned to the Train Station and Hotel at Dowerton for one last time. As you attempt to solve the mystery of Amy's disappearance you must face the horrors that await you. The old buildings have deteriorated since your first investigation, so you must watch your step, and never turn your back on the darkness....for something hides there; Something evil, unknowable and hungry.
  • A Dark Fall horror adventure from the pen of Jonathan Boakes, author of The Lost Crown.
  • Explore a derelict train station and hotel, abandoned since World War 2.
  • Physically interact with the eerie setting, to really ‘feel’ the place.
  • Use light as your weapon and ally, to fight the darkness.
  • A hauntingly creepy stereo score that will chill and terrify you.
  • Explore the memories of the dead, in their own ‘nightmares’ to discover the true identity, and power behind, the Dark Fall itself.

Souls lost for the third time

This game is a very good one. It is based to the same hotel than the first one. But it is very different game. Unlike in 1 and 2, In Dark fall 3 the puzzles are not so complicated and "random". You will spot clues more easily but still they are placed so you will have to use your brain to solve puzzles. What is bad in this game is the voice acting, especially the main character. It is lazy and doesn't sound afraid at all even though the situation demands it. All in all, game is very good horror puzzle with the flaw in voice acting.

Yep, it's creepy, BUT...

I had some issues with this game. Don't get me wrong, the game was fun to play. The visuals and sound effects will truly freak you out. DO NOT PLAY in a dark room with speakers on loud. Some of the areas are simply grotesque and disturbing to look out (scissors, blood, syringes, freaky statues like the Weeping Angels in Doctor Who). HOWEVER, as an avid adventure gamer, I felt the plot of this story made little sense, and the end of the game left much unexplained. Some of the characters and plot elements were not logical. Also, in terms of gameplay, the movement was stilted, and you often had to spend a long time moving from one room to the next. You can only look at certain angles, and it's easy to miss a hotspot if you don't click just the right way. Also, it wasn't always clear what you were supposed to be doing, so the puzzles were not intuitive. Sometimes it was a simple matter of having to move around, and "hit" and area where you would get a message (the next clue). This could be frustrating, as you'd be wandering around without knowing where to go next and why. The characters simply weren't as three-dimensional as a game such as Myst; even so, this game is worth it for the graphics alone. It's the stuff of nightmares.

Scary as hell

Seriously, this is the scariest game I've ever played. The sheer horror of the decors, the tension building for what will come out in the end and the creepiness of your interaction with ghosts make you uneasy from the very first moment and never let go. No cheap thrills à la Outlast here. It has its flaws as an adventure game (though it's not as hard as the other dark falls), so you might want to play with a walkthrough to really focus on the scary experience. Go play it now. And afterwards go play Scratches.

Disappointing

After having just finished Dark Fall 1 & 2, which I really liked, I started playing 3. I'm not going to finish it. First of all, the setting. it's the same as the 1st game, even including the same 'villain', it seems, but very clearly an entirely new universe. So many details have changed, and the first game story clearly had it so that the whole site would be renovated and/or rebuilt soon. This clearly didn't happen here. Really immersion breaking when at every new area something is just "wrong". Wrong place, wrong details, things competely out of place, things missing, etc... Movement. So slow now! The new 3D world is niceish, but it means that transitions between sections are so much slower. No longer just instantlly moving, you slowly turn, you slowly walk forward. Ugh. And finally, what really killed it for me is the addition of timed puzzles. I hate them. A lot. I was still figuring out a certain puzzle I came accross and suddenly game over. I'm returned to just before the puzzle, at least, but I quit and wrote this. Next step is to uninstall.

Excellent!

After playing all three Dark Fall titles (and many other puzzle games) Dark Fall 3 is one of the best point and click adventure game I've played. The Graphics are smooth and detailed, (runs great even on Windows 10). The sound effects and music sound great and really give the game a overall creepy effect. The Puzzles are hard (some can be a little cryptic), but they'll give the player a fun challenge. The best part about this game is the Story and atmosphere. Playing this game really feels as if you are trapped inside a haunted house.
