"Golf in a series of platforming dungeons? As you battle to escape the underworld? (Or Golf Purgatory, which sounds just as bad.) Power-ups and weird obstacles and a never-ending series of neat gimmicks? Lovely pixelart? Cursed to Golf sounds absolutely wonderful." Eurogamer - The games we're looking forward to in 2022
"In Cursed to Golf you take on the role of a Golf Champion, trapped in Golf Purgatory after a lightning strike stops you dead in your tracks. To ascend back to the land of the living, you’ll need to play through 18 dungeon-like holes." Nintendo Life - 33 Indie Games We're Excited About On Switch In 2022
Play as The Cursed Golfer, trapped in Golf Purgatory after a freak accident takes you out as you’re about to take the winning shot of an international tournament! Legend says that playing through the devious courses across Golf Purgatory will get you back to the land of the living and, more importantly, to the trophy you were about to win. Each course is governed by a ghostly Legendary Caddie, who will tutor you in the mystical ways of golf to aid you on your quest for redemption and revival.
Cursed to Golf offers a fresh take on the golfing and roguelike subgenres. Make your way through a hole within the PAR Count or your curse will take you back to the beginning of the course! To add to the challenge, these courses don’t just have bunkers and rough spots but are also chock full of mad obstacles like high powered fans, spikes, TNT boxes, teleporters and a whole load more. It’s all par for the course in this twisted take on the classic game!
Being cursed to play golf forever in the eternity of Golf Purgatory has its benefits, too! Use Birdie-Eye to catch a view of the whole course and see what trials lie ahead. Par count running low? Luckily, gold and silver Shot Idols are peppered throughout the holes, smashing through them with a cinematic flourish will replenish your shots. Ace Cards will turn the odds back in your favour, channeling your otherworldly powers to manipulate the game in incredible ways. Scattershot, U-Turn, Rocketball, Mulligans are just some of 20 cards you have up your sleeve to turn the tide back in your favour!

The game looks gorgeous but fails on multiple levels. Course design is miserable and has a thousand ledges when maybe some ramps might have done nicely? You're shooting most shots blind - the game offers you a camera but more often than not you are going to be shooting off of essentially guesswork. Some of the more horizontal holes it might give you are nice, they flow and are fun, but the vertical holes have you trudging your way down with a series of really unexciting shots. The card system is fine but really struggles to matter when at its core this game seems like it's designed to just be kind of annoying. Shot flexibility suffers as well, meaning if you happen to nestle yourself up against a ledge from a shot wherein you couldn't really see where you were shooting, you're not going to have many good options for recovery - and given that when you run out of shots the run is over, it feels very frivolous very quickly. This could have been many things - a "roguelikeish" branching run permadeath fest with no ramps and no enjoyable holes shouldn't have been one of them. I don't know if the holes were procedurally generated, but they feel like they were and I wish someone would have just taken the time to actually design fun courses.
good physics, very nice graphics, gameplay is meh. Really not a fan of the rogue-like aspect, the par-ball and having to start over... it's golf! let me finish the holes!
Like I have to start all the way back at the beginning? After I beat the first boss it gave me a save point and I used it in next level but it didn't work. Why do I have to hold the button to view wide. It should be view wide by default and zoom when you hold the button.
Did they not even test their own game? There are other bugs, like it not showing the correct golf club. The game itself is frustrating in kind of a fun way but they need to be friendlier about it. Does it really hurt you to just let me roll back to the boss I am on, for the more casual player? Have 2 achievements. 1 you beat it all in row and the other you just made it to the end. Or a hardcore setting. It's like you want to turn people away. No wonder this didn't sell.
Too many cutscenes with poor dialogues for poorly written characters. Facing the bosses was repetitive. Takes way to long to complete a run even when fast-forwarding through each shot and through all the dialogue. Good concept, could have been executed much better.
