2nd citizen treatment
GOG version of the game is sitting at 1.1.0.4, meanwhile TRAGsoft just launched it's major update 1.2.1 on november 8, on steam. A bit of backstory first, though. The GOG version was already missing a bunch of updates (along one which featured some free content, but most importantly some QoL features) more than a year ago: I did some research and ended up hunting the devs on their discord, no dev responded, only a server moderator, which claimed the same thing every time he was asked (by different users) about the status of the updates for the mobile and GOG version (apparently the GOG version is treated as the mobile one, despite mobile one being F2P, while GOG is a premium product.) He too, again, responded to me in the same manner, saying that both mobile and GOG version will be updated at the same time as the steam one, once they would launch their major update, which finally was released on steam and of course, as thing stands now, their claim was false on the GOG side of things. Any person with a sane mind would think of the following: Why haven't they updated the GOG version like the steam one, since both of them are premium products (and I dare say on GOG usually we pay more, as we lack the luxury of legit third party key reseller that steam has)? For those who try to justify TRAGsoft actions: please, don't. This is either made on purpose for not trusting the platform due to pIrAcY, or out of pure laziness. if you put a game on either store, you should commit yourselves to keep platform parity within 2 weeks, not completely forego a bunch of updates, promise that within two year the game will be updated, only to LIE ABOUT IT. Stardew valley is a one man project and still the dev is extremely quick to update the game on all the stores it is sold, same for No man's sky by Hello Games or Focus Entertainment published games. We are nearing the end of 2023 and still the 2nd citizen treatment is a thing, which is both sad and ridiculous.
