Chilled out experience.

I have this on steam and couldn't put it down. Driving around Nivalis is amazing and fun. Seeing all the neon lights and the atmosphere of always raining in the dark gutters in the bottom of the city. There are multiple 'levels' to the city. Not in the way of transitioning from Stage 1 to 2. On some areas you can see there is sea underneath you. Next area you can see there are only clouds and skyscrapers under you, giving you in the miles in the air feeling and the buildings still go UP! You can drive anywhere at any point, you can roam any location where this is parking on foot, pick up side quests or just admire the immersion of being in a dystopian city AND you get a doggo companion named Camus to fly around with you in your own personal HOVA-Car! Don't mind the other reviews about the game ''being too political.''. Rania is a level-headed woman who takes no shit. Though she proclaims to be a ''Neo-anarchist, anti-capitalist.'' If i remember correctly. Who wouldn't if Debt Corps killed your dog and would sell you out to labour camps? In saying that. The game doesn't shove any politics down your throat, there's no ''centuries ago, there used to be a man called Donald and he did things''. There are some mature themes about corruption, unions, workers rights and the typical massive companies doing seedy shit. Jazz being outlawed. Ancient video games being outlawed etc. ''durr puhletiks'' the others mention might just be about a character named Comrade Bop, who makes a rap and Camus has to sing it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pxglZx--xU - ''If you're the corp elite, listen close. We're going to take it all from you.'' I'm no fan of 'woke poltics' either but the other reviews are just bullshit. There is no combat and there is no rush in this game. Except for a few select missions near the end. The game might say ''don't miss a delivery/hurry to the destination''. You can basically ignore the main quest and do al the side objectives at your pace.

Bladerunner/Cyberpunk but relaxing

Cloudpunk is more a interactive novel than a game. It's all about atmosphere and getting to know the world it plays in. Beautiful 3D Pixel open world with great synthwave music. The story might not be the best there is but still entertaining. Sometimes it does not take itself serious but sometimes emotional. Even if the decisions do not alter the story ending a quest in a bad way still make me care.

Beautiful game that lacks depth

the good parts: 1.This game is beautiful to the point that the fact that is 100% made out of cubes is kinda forgotten while driving/flying/hovering throught the city it is very well done . 2 the controls are very well even with the fact that you are driving/flying/hovering it makes sense with how the vehicles responses to your inputs . 3. the voice actors are on point if a bit bland and dead feeling (like really emote sometimes). the bad parts : 1.it feels like the world has no real lore behind it aside from the fact the world sucks everybody is corrupt and you are barely making due like every basic distopian future , that on it's own is fine but it feels there is nothing beyond that ,very few times did i go oh i wanna know more of this part . 2. with the fact that the city is very crowded you are gonna bump into things and i do mean alot of things and it damages the vehicle though you will never see how damaged it is which leaves you questioning the entire time . 3.the story is just there and that is about it , yes it keeps you going but aside from giving you money so you can get fuel and repair your car and maybe get some "upgrades" it just feels plopped in , yes it's sprinkled with futuristic stuff but remove that it's really bland and can be tossed into any random game . 4. sometimes you need items to progress and sometimes they are easy to find and sometimes they are just really obtuse and you are given basically no clue on where to look . 5. i only got somewhat attached to like 2 characters 3 if you count the main character but it's a surface attachement not a good hook into my feeling ( very subjective yes it still matters though) End though : The art is on point you do get the feeling of a futuristic world and the gameplay controls are good too nothing to complaign on that it's just the story is lacking and feels empty and dead nothing you do matters to the main character really even the end is just nothing you do it and it's done.

6/10. Cyberpunk enough

Huge neon city. Rain and run never stops. Great soundtrack. Flying cars! Good enough story. These are pros. Cons: - too much loadings; - too much long slow dialogues; - this is not RPG at all; - strange mix of open world and visual novel: city is big but has very little to explore, almost no side quests. Enjoyable enough, but do not be over-pre-charmed.

mixed bag

First: This game is not for kids, adult audience. The only reason I was able to not quit the game and get through the rough beginning is thanks to my excellent stereo speakers. The city is visually nice and the sound of the things around you are enjoyable. If you have good stereo speakers with excellent range it is nice to immerse in the city. The driving is okay the walking is bare minimum but gets the job done with a few inivisible walls. The character models are on the brink of serviceable. The writing and voice acting has some serious(!!!) up and downs. This is even more exaggerated by the writing which also has some seeeeeeeerrriiiiooooooos up and downs. It's so bad at parts that it's genious! Because the one or the other character bites the dust. If all those annoying characters would be able to go down in dumb ways I would give the game 5 stars. Also some conversations can't be skipped which can get very painful. Some story ideas are good some are bad. Because the game is carried by two things: The City with it's visuals and audio effects and the writing the game gets 3 Stars. There are interesting items with vague meanings/functions if they have any. When getting close to the end of the game I was thinking how awesome this city would been for a syndicate/hitman like game. That's what's missing here. The game wants to be serious but puts you in shackles and sometimes tries to hit you with a hammer in the face with it's morals and ideas. The length is perfect, not too long, not too short. Get it if you wanna see a cool city with cool sound fx and some ridiculous stupid goofy 'serious' character design mixed with some nice characters in a mostly walking sim. 6,99€ is what I would pay in hindsight.
