Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a 3D platformer starring Clive, a rabbit, and Wrench, the literal monkey on his back. Your adventure takes you hurtling through time and space in a 1950’s refrigerator on a heroic quest to thwart the tyrannical Dr Daucus and stop his evil plans.
One fateful morning Professor Nancy Merricarp wakes to find that her proudly displayed time travel blueprints have been nabbed by the downright evil Dr Daucus! Minutes later a sudden flash of purple illuminates the sky, and a portal appears! Dr Daucus and his sidekick, General Olga Chestycough, jump into the portal and no sooner than it appeared the portal vanishes. Luckily Nancy’s cousin, Clive and her apprentice Wrench are there to help pursue the wicked doctor and put an end to his horrid plans! But to do this they must travel through time themselves!
Journey Through Time and Space.
Dr Daucus is blundering carelessly through time in search of “Ancient Stones”, which will bring him great power. Thankfully our heroes are on hand to save the day! Your adventure will take you through 11 distinct worlds throughout different periods of time.
You’ll find yourself in all sorts of delightfully detailed worlds such as ancient Egypt in Tempus Tombs and the prehistoric ice age in Iceratops. You’ll meet colourful cast of characters from both the modern day and throughout time. There is adventure waiting for you in every exciting era!
Smooth Moves.
Both Clive and Wrench have a diverse move set, enabling them to explore each age with style and ease. Clive is particularly athletic and is well experienced in the art of parkour. This pairs perfectly with Wrench who is super stretchy and super strong. Together they can travel anywhere and take on whatever the evil Dr Daucus and his army of historical figures throw their way!
A work of passion. Clive ‘N’ Wrench is a real work of passion from the developer Rob Wass, who is a true and genuine fan of the 3D platformer genre.

I was hesitant going into this game because people were saying it was buggy and lacked polish. But upon actually playing the game for myself, it has polish and charm up the wazoo, with barely any bugs, and even then none of them affected my gameplay at all. I have to wonder if anyone who called the game unpolished or buggy actually played the game? Did they just parrot the opinion of a Youtuber that exaggerated negative aspects of the game for views, thus leading to an unwarranted hate campaign? Maybe.
Ignore the haters, this game is super fun and has crazy amounts of effort placed into it! Support the developer and buy it now!
This game really wants to be Banjo Kazooie, but also wants things to move a lot faster.
The environments are quite diverse, lots of little quirky details. So even if the presentation may be rough and janky (Oh yes it is), it also carries a lot of love with it.
If you are looking for an ultra-polished platformer, maybe go look at Yooka-Laylee. But where this shines over the lizard and bat is in the sheer speed. Momentum doesn't seem to have much to say here, you can run fast from a standing start, and stop at a moment's notice. Though janky it feels entertaining to move around.
The combat can go take a flying leap out the window though, there's hardly any good feeling with what hit you and when. Thankfully it's a non-issue except in some boss fights.
The sound and music are, at best, a mixed bag. I would not recommend you play this for those. And the story is.....there I guess.
There are a couple of boss battles where you don't actually have to fight the boss. It's clear that the developer went with doing something funny and occasionally unexpected. And I am here for it.
if you can handle jank and are just hankering for scampering around a silly world, I think you may like this. I know I did.
This game is full of bugs. The colliders are weird. There's a ton of pop in that doesn't make sense. Clive's animations don't work sometimes. And the swimming controls are horrendous. I streamed the game on discord to my friends and we had a good laugh spotting all of the bugs.
I really enjoy running around and jumping as clive. His move set is interesting and platforming can be fum.
My recommendation is buy it on sale if you want to play it. Don't expect anything amazing though. If you do want a polished platformer this game is not for you.
