Anstoss 2 Gold Edition

Bought this (Anstoss 2 and Verlängerung) back in the day as a physical CD. It's still one of the best football manager games to date. EA is a bit more sincere and a bit more modern, but not necessarily more detailed or fleshed out. Comparable I'd say. Sega focuses on tactics and the matchdays. We are football is garbage (at least currently). Anstoss has no licenses, but who remembers players from the last millennium anyways? No englisch localization, perfect opportunity to learn the beautiful German language =)

Unfortunately A2G is still missing patch 1.01 which is a must-have. Really a shame...

As much as I would have loved to play Anstoss 2 Gold without having to look for my old (and probably scratched) disc I just could not get this game to work. No matter what I tried the screen was always cut off on the right side, preventing me from even clicking through the first few windows until the real game would begin. This is probably due to GoG selling the 1.00 version, which is INCOMPATIBLE with the 1.01 patch, as it is missing some crucial files for the patch to work, or even apply. Some people managed to fix this problem by extracting the Euro-Patch RESDLL.dll file found on the Anstoss-juenger forum, but sadly this did not work me, like for some others. But since I read of some people actually playing the GoG version on a regular basis without having any bigger problems, buying this game seems to be a test of luck to me. So you are either lucky enough for this game to run from the start (might have to restart your PC once and change text scale to 100% in windows settings) or you will have to look for a working retail version.

Unfortunately I can't play the game. On my Windows 10 system, the menu screen bugs out and gets cut off towards the right hand side. I can't see the entire game. I can't seem to find a fix for this either. Since it also seems to be missing the famous patch 1.01, it pains me to tell you not to buy this version.
