hah - you stay firmly in your comfort zone. I will give others a chance to get this before I do again. I can give 2 hints - it is not spin-actual-dizzy, and I had a C64 as my second ever computer.

I remember several C64 games like that but I'm not sure which (if any) is correct. So my list would be:
Trouble Bubble
Bobby Bearing
Gyroscope

Edit: marble madness

But I have a strange feeling that none of those is correct... there was something else...

Nope none of those!
Here's a hint - it had discrete levels / missions and worlds similar to Spindizzy Worlds

But I have a strange feeling that none of those is correct... there was something else...

They claimed that LED stood for 'Laser enhanced destruction' despite one of you 3 robots looking just like a Light Emmitting Diode - The game's whole name was a geeky in-joke!
