Hi all,

The various DLC for The Escapists will be here for the GOG version as soon as possible. That is all.

Pheace: 'as soon as possible' can mean anything from tomorrow to never (ie not possible). It's like saying it'll get here when it gets here, if it gets here.

If there's actual plans on the table for it getting here, he should be clear about that. At the moment, this statement is just hot air, meaningless PR speak.
I said "as soon as possible" because we don't know WHEN we'll have the DLC. I fail to see where the maningless PR speak actually is in my statement.

The DLC will be here but there's no definite date as to when it will arrive.

Pheace: Until your last sentence there was no statement from you that the DLC will actually come here, that's what I'm trying to make clear to you. That final sentence would have been the better way of stating it.
Unless my English skills have failed me, the statement "The various DLC for The Escapists will be here for the GOG version as soon as possible." states quite frankly that DLC will be here. I am not sure where the problem is with that previous statement.

grimwerk: Is there a best way for customers to proceed when a GOG game lags behind an alternate version in terms of updates or expansions?

On the face of it, this thread seems successful (even if a bit negative in parts).
The only way I can think of would be to send the developer or publisher a courteous email asking about these kind of things :)

phaolo: Speaking in general and for any game, can't Gog force a bit the release of such addons as soon as other stores?
Such delays harm your competitiveness.
That question is a bit way too beyond me so I can't really answer it myself. Sorry :/

hedwards: Indeed, by convention in English we do assume that it's possible. So, as you stated it does imply that at some point in the future the DLC will be here.

If you knew it to be impossible or that it was possibly impossible, that would be a terrible way of putting it though.
If I am going to be communicating something official then I make sure to do so without any ostentatious verbiage. Straight and to the point is my personal motto when it comes to official communication :)
