Bookmarked this thread but contrary to something like the Euro, it's much harder to follow as TV channels doesn't necessarly show what you want to follow :(

dr.schliemann: Well, it was a feeling, We could call it low-tech, retro-style.
And now I can add it had the most peculiar, unusual, unique (beautiful?) cauldron ever.

DaCostaBR: I just watched little snippets here and there so I just didn't know where you were coming from.
One-tenth of London's

Not sure about the situation in Belgium, but here you can watch everything you want in livestreams by the TV stations that show the Olympic games.

If you say so. I didn't watch London's opening. I watched the World Cup opening a couple of years ago, which I seem to remember as a lot smaller than this one. That's why I was confused by calling it low budget.

Maybe the two things are just apples and oranges after all.
Oh I remember London's opening! :P

They did a whole history of rock & roll thing and this is true: They wanted to put together a timeline of English rock so of course they asked all of the living greats of the past sixty years to come and be a part, and, hand to god this is the truth, the organizer of the whole thing got really pissy about one of the people they wanted. He expressed how insulted he was that Keith Moon hadn't even bothered to reply to any of their request. :P

There are some streams on our internet official TV channels but there are a few competitions missing (like the air rifle this afternoon) and on TV, they naturally switch to the stuff where there are Belgian competitors :(

Anyway, there is the women beach volley starting soon today/tonight, I won't go to sleep before watching that ^o^

BTW, first medal gold for Belgium today in the bicycle riding competion! :)

PaterAlf: I'm watching the rowing competitions at the moment. With all the waves and the heavy wind it looks like a completely new kind of sport to me. Sometimes it's even underwater rowing.
The men’s road race must have had the most crashes ever.

Yes, that was a completely crazy course for an Olympic race. I wonder who was the genius that decided it would be a great idea to have the race on that track.
This French women's soccer team is good.

When they go on defense it looks like there are twenty of them out there.

Australia is playing a very good match as well.
The girls let me out to watch a race and it's GOLD FOR AUSTRALIA!!!!!!
Mack Horton and the world champ fought out the finish for the last 60 meters.
our second gold medal \o/
Double GOLD Australia.
How are burglaries and robberies going over there at Rio? Everyone enjoying the empty seats? The thefts/burglaries/robberies or the attempts of them thereoff? The security level being abyssmal? How are the Australian people who were victimized more than once...? Please, tell me everything about it!

Personally, i enjoyed the Russian killing the vermin who threatened him and wanted to rob him at gunpoint, this was my own personal favorite moment from those games! I seriously wonder if 2024 olympics in france will have "great fireworks"... Heh heh...
