skeletonbow: I'm getting inundated with friend requests and am supremely severely annoyed by this. I've disabled private messages completely so that nobody at all (friend or otherwise) can send me a message, and I've got the "do not allow people to search for me by name or email address" setting set so people can't search for me.

I don't want "friends". Please make it stop.
I am sure that has something to do with your prodigious posting. You can be sent an invite right from the forums. I sent you one just now.

Venom: Yes, if you've disabled the "Searching for me" option in your privacy settings you shouln't be included in any friend recommendations. This is a bug, and we're working on fixing it.
Someobdy also said that blocked users can also spam you with friend request. If true, you might also want to expand the blocked feature to include not being able to send friend request to the user that blocked you.
For the last few days I had the issue that Galaxy starts "offscreen" sometimes. Meaning I see the lower right part of the window, but not the title bar and the left is cut off too.

This seems to affect only Galaxy (all other applications work fine in this regard, except for Chrome sometimes, but that one at least stays inside the desktop). Win-Up at least fixes this (fullscreen, then drag away...). Happened multiple times in a row, can't reproduce now.

Did anyone else have the issue?

ejankowska: Hi,

we just released GOG Galaxy ver. 1.2.40...
Did you guys change something with notifications? Clicking on one (like a forum reply) no longer seems to clear the notification. You now have to click clear all.

Is this intended behavior now or is it a bug?

EDIT:

Well now it seems to be working. o.O

skeletonbow: I don't want any "friends". I don't want to add any, and I don't want anyone to add me. I don't want to see notifications, I don't want to know what 500 people are doing that I don't have any real world contact with or day to day communications with.

I sent you a friend request! jk. :D

Ideally it would be nice if this suggested friends thing was a subset but separate option. Good to know you're working on fixing it though, thanks.

Yea I've seen this too. I've also had an issue with the size of Galaxy would be changed when I exit a game, even though Galaxy was in full-screen when I started playing.

Probably related to the Chromium Embedded Framework which Galaxy uses since you also see it in Chrome.

Just once, GOG, just once...
For some time now, if not since the beginning I use Galaxy, I have some glitches with the sidebar on the left. Using the compact list, sorted by name.

Every few days some games lose their icon and it will only be reloaded when I click on the game entry.

In addition, for example when I click on Ultimate Doom, the title is changed to "Ultimate Doom, The" and pushed further down the list, probably due to sorting.

It's a bit annoying to start Galaxy and see 1/4 of the games list without an icon, having to cycle through each of them, just to repeat the process 2 days later.

Is this problem known?
I think I found the issue concerning the disappearing icons!

Every icon that doesn't load is associated with a store page that is no longer linked with that game, so it seems to me that the icons are linked to its store page! At least on my end...

As in linked I mean r-click for the game's store page, you'll get the general games page instead.

Thanks for the hint. Can confirm that's the case for me, too.
How can I disable gog from starting when I start a game? I wouldn't really mind it but I wont have internet for a month at a time soon and it's just a waste of resources on a laptop.

Make a new shortcut to the exe of the game you want to start. Default shortcuts start Galaxy and let Galaxy start the game for you.

Hopefully a blue text can confirm this, I'll write a ticket as well!
