Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Haven't seen anyone really mentioning it but I'm still on 1.1.15 and still unable to download anything at all using Galaxy. I get the same error every single time although with some files it happens at the start of the download and others it is half way through or so. "Server error, failed." I've also reported it to GOG support, but they just sent me back a form letter telling me to make sure my antivirus and firewall were not preventing Galaxy from working correctly (even though I told them in the report that I had ensured that to be the case already), and recommending I download the game installer manually using Galaxy (and ignoring the fact that I was specifically reporting that that is exactly what is not working).

I presume GOG devs are hard at work on the issue and it'll probably be resolved in 1.1.16 but I've had to avoid using Galaxy for the time being except for launching my games to play them, and fallback to using the web browser for downloads. I can state with 100% absolute certainty that my firewall and antivirus have nothing to do with the problem whatsoever however.

As an additional note, I have exited Galaxy, deleted the galaxy.db and restarted Galaxy and had it recreate the database but it does not resolve the problem. My point of posting about this here, is to directly poll the rest of Galaxy beta testers to see if others are still experiencing the exact same problem or not.

I wonder when can we expect an in-game overlay with at least some screenshot options. My dream is to share wonderful Witcher 3 screenshots and other lovely screenshots with the world (not like the world would care at all, but that's another issue :D ).

However, the "In-game overlay" doesn't seem to be working with Witcher 3. Or if it is, I have no idea, how to access it. And we don't have the in-game overlay for any other games either.

So yeah. Essentially this is one of the most missing feature of the client for me:
A working overlay with
* at least a clock to be able to check the time without alt-tabbing
* the ability to take screenshots

An interesting part from the developers' viewpoint must be that a lot of games comes in extremely small resolutions (Prehistorik, etc..) which almost makes impossible to provide a usable overlay though. More recent games should not have this problem though.

That's difficult to say, however they're hard at work on getting the basic minimum overlay functionality to work with as many games as possible currently. Not sure when they plan on adding screenshot or FPS counter functionality to it however and I don't think they've ever commented about either feature anywhere to date. Galaxy does install an empty screenshot folder under ProgramData though so it is highly suggestive that the feature is indeed planned. I think it's reasonable to speculate they'll also add an FPS counter at some point whether they've mentioned it or not yet though.

The overlay is only available in a select few titles currently and disabled by default, you have to manually enable it. If memory serves correctly, you go into More->Settings for The Witcher 3 and there should be an Overlay DLC option to enable. You might need to restart the client, not sure. I'm not sure what other games support it but it is very few and the functionality is quite limited at the moment and no screenshot function. It provides access to your friend list and the ability to send messages to friends and to see your achievements and total game time, that's about it.

I presume the overlay is enabled for other games that support it via enabling magic DLC also, similar to what I described for The Witcher 3.

Agreed, screenshots, a clock, and an FPS counter would be really nice to have. Before we can have those things though they need to get it working with as many games as possible first so it isn't game specific, and that's rather complicated believe it or not. :) Once they get the basics working of interacting with the multitude of versions of DirectX/Direct3D, OpenGL, and other video and input APIs used in games over the last couple of decades then it should be much easier for them to add functionality to what we can do within the overlay after that. The hard work though is dealing with the multitude of APIs used by various games so that the overlay can work with as many games as possible without requiring the game to have some kind of special support for the overlay built into it.

You are absolutely correct about the low resolution problem. The overlay looks absolutely terrible at 1024x768 or below and is next to impossible to use. That will likely change eventually too as they update the aesthetics later on, but the bigger problem IMHO is dealing with the multitude of ways games access the FB as well as input APIs and how they're used. Tricky business. :)

Just to be silly... what'd be cool in the future is if they could add the ability to launch another game in the overlay... hehehe.

mtscots: I posted this 2 days ago:
"I have a issue whit GOG Galaxy 1.1.14.
With Galaxy my downloads never ends. Last night I left my computer downloading The Witcher 2 (20 gB) and at this time it was in 70% but when I woke up, miraculously it got back to 8%. This isnt the first time that it happens to me, is the third time. I am trying to download that game since last thursday and now I am trying to download with browser, because GOG Galaxy is not helping.
The force isn't at my side."

When i looked at the game instalation directory realized that the game was there. I used the option that lets to import the game directory to GOG Galaxy and after a little update or verification (I dont know what of these) the game finally runs but I dont know if its perfect, but the game started and I am playing the first missions
Hi mtscots,

could you report an issue to http://mantis.gog.com ? Please attach your logs from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs we'll investigate.

Icons of installed games became blurry. Was it made on purpose?
Galaxy version: 1.1.14

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows Vista or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs

Perhaps a silly question but in the smallprint below the download link for GOG Galaxy, e.g. here
https://www.gog.com/galaxy
it reads that "Client requires Windows 7 or newer". And you mention where logs of Galaxy can be found for Windows XP. and Vista..
So does GOG Galaxy run on systems older than Windows 7 or not?

I just downloaded and installed GOG Galaxy.
First it did not start, requiring me to run it with administrator rights.
When I started it with administrator rights it stopped with the error that
"Could not run GOG Galaxy Updater"

My understanding is that Galaxy is not officially supported on older OS'es. Essentially, "it could work, but you're on your own if it breaks."

No, that's something we'll be fixing.

Exactly. This unfortunately means we won't be actively supporting any older Windows versions - we try to get it to work on a basic level, that's all we can do right now.

In some time, next year or the one after, we might be forced to drop XP and Vista in order to get some cool new features. For example, we are using the web rendering engine Chromium, which dropped support for XP and Vista in April this year. We can use older chromium versions for some time, but at a certain point we'll need / want the newest ones.

Thanks, I can wait it out a day or few days etc. and use downloader/browser temporarily. Will this be 1.1.16, or just another update but retaining the 1.1.15 version with a higher build ID? More or less curious to be able to identify when it comes down the pipe, although you'll probably announce it clearly here anyway.
Number of listed games in library is wrong if you use filters....

Could update 1.1.13 and newer break sth for downloading files on XP? Tried several times to download Black Moon Chronicles and Realms of the Hauting purchased on weekend promo and Galaxy failed to merge files...Downloading with browser works ok. Last time I used Galaxy (few days before I made my last purchase) - Galaxy worked ok.
Hey,

We have just released 1.1.15 for everyone. It's an improved version of Galaxy, which was available on preview.
It contains fixes for broken database (galaxy.db) as well as fix for downloading backup & goodies:)

And among the fixes, we squeezed in adding the button for recently released Wallet feature:)

There unfortunately is one known bug to us, which we will handle within the next release (probably next week).
It's related to directory permissions in Program Files folder. For now, as a workaround we can suggest installing to
a non-protected location, for example to C:\GOG Games\.

I restarted Galaxy and it pulled down the update but it crashed at the end with a fatal error. Restarting the client again it crashes with a different fatal error every single time now saying "Failed to load game database."

Should I uninstall it, download the new installer, blow away the ProgramData folder for it and start all fresh and snazzy and scan folders perhaps?
