[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic. (this one)
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

drxenija: Hit BUY NOW and get 100% off.
Must have Hitman 3 Starter pack that I posted a few days ago.
avatar
myconv: You posted here? I can not find what you are talking about.

myconv: Hitman 1 or 3? I am confused here.
nvm, didn't see this new page at the time so though it was yet unanswered :/
As I see your answers now, did any of you try to add Hitman 2 content yet? does it only give what you have unlocked on steam or some combined GOTY pack or something like for Hitman 1?

some no longer required info:
0. In general, one cannot add DLC packages to a game one does not own. Be that as it may..
1. https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/p/hitman-3--free-starter-pack - This free DLC gives you Access to other Hitman 3 DLC.
- I agree it is strange that a DLC unlocks the full game (without content), but that is the whole purpose of its existence.
2.A. If one has Hitman 1 GOTY on Epic (like if one got it during the giveaway on August 2020), or on Steam), one can get the above DLC for free, which Basically gives all Hitman 1 Game content within Hitman 3 Game.
2.B. As mentioned in the message I linked to, if one also happens to have Hitman 2 on Steam, one can get that content in Hitman 3 epic as well, but I have yet to try it myself (I have Hitman 1 on epic from he giveaway I mentioned above).

FlavioV: PS: HITMAN (2016) was given away for free on Aug 2020. If you had an Epic account by the time there's a good chance you already own it.
I often forget about getting the new free games on Epic. I don't know how to check what games I do have on Epic, but I assume I don't have Hitman (1016) as it's not zeroing out. (yeah I got the free DLC)

So if one didn't get that free game on aug 2020 or otherwise have it already, ignore all this?

I haven't tried it myself, but I'm assuming it doesn't work like that. Epic let you claim the access pass for free because it sees that you own Hitman (2016).
The second game isn't available on Epic, but if you own the Steam version you can still claim the locations by linking your accounts on the IO Interactive website.

You can see your purchase history here. Or you can use either GOG Galaxy or the Epic launcher if you have either installed.
Normally you could just open the store listing but seems like only the GOTY upgrade is currently available.

You're only entitled for the free DLC if you own the original games on either Epic or Steam (see above).
If you don't, feel free to skip all of those posts. The discussion will eventually settle down.

PlayNite - from https://playnite.link/ - is also great for that. It's good for a LOT of things, but its main attraction for me is providing an unified interface listing all (or most) of my games from multiple game stores.

Well none of them run on Linux, which is the issue.

Galaxy can install Epic games?

In answer to your question... Not exactly. GOG Galaxy calls the Epic Store Launcher previously installed on your computer. It does the same with the laucher/Client of the Steam and Ubisoft video games store. In any case you need to have installed the other clients / Launchers of the stores supported by GOG Galaxy.

Now on to other things more specific to the thread....
