Not a real Settlers game but still great

Heritage Of Kings is not like the older Settlers games and therefore many die hard Settlers fans dislike it. But when looking at this game not as a Settlers game it is in fact pretty good and very fun.... full review
The history in Heritage Of Kings is pretty lame nothing special. The 3D graphic is nice and descent. But where the game really shines is in the gameplay. It does a great job of mixing games like Warcraft and Age Of Empires with old school Settlers and the result is a unique game and different game with many interesting aspects. It has it's flaws too off course. But at the end off the day Heritage Of Kings is a fun game with a lot of value.
A very good game if you know how to play it right.

When I first started out playing this game i was confused and didn't know what do to. I was thinking about quitting it when I finally got the hang of it. Afterward, I couldn't stop playing it. If you know how to play it and how to take down your enemies without having them go after you, then you well get into this game a lot.
Heritage of Kings is fifth game in Settlers series and unfortunately unsuccessful one but...... full review
Let's start from the beginning. Games is first Settlers made in detailed 3D, Blue Byte used Criterion's Software RenderWare engine (used also for example im GTA3, kill.switch or Broken Sword The Sleeping Dragon). Entering series into 3D also started radical midifications in graphic and whole game style, this time more 'serious'. And perhaps this was developer's main error. Through ealier 4 parts players were used to nicely animated 2D graphic, funny comic-style settlers animations performing their work etc.
Now it's more like medieval serious RTS game. Large monumental buldings (churches, castles), wooden-brick houses and main game goal is retaking your kingdom from evil tyrant's hands. At least economic chain characteristic to settlers are still present (gathering resources, wood,
Objectively looking, Heritage of King's is still good game but if sothing isn't broken why fix it? I can give games 3.5/5 points but let make it 4, too bad this games was named 'Settlers'.
Also too bad game is sold withaout two expansion packs but I presume they'll be avaiable not long from now...
