Nothing Special

Posted on 2011-08-11 09:23:05 by grainne6's avatar grainne6:

Crusaders of Might and Magic isn't a bad game it's just not a very good one.
It's a short game that is fun for awhile and is probably worth the price GOG is charging but don't expect anything special just because of the name.
There is almost no story, the role playing elements are fairly shallow, the npcs are just silly, the voice acting is terrible and the ending is disappointing. read more
However the combat is fun especially spell casting - and although the game get very repetitive it's certainly not terrible and if you are looking for a short diversion and don’t mind some flaws and a lot of backtracking the game is not a bad choice and overall I enjoyed it.

Disappointing

I haven't played CoMM in 12 years, but I remember the disappointment like it was yesterday.
The level design was the problem. Most of the time you're running down long halls and tunnels. Even when you're outside, it's a straight line from point A to B. It's okay if a game is linear, but this one is actually composed of lines.
The gameplay mechanics were passable. The story was read more just enough to keep you running from place to place. But the quality isn't worthy of the Might and Magic brand name. However, I paid a lot more than $6 for it.

Stay away of it!

At first, sorry for my bad English.
This is my first game review on the gog - in fact, my first game review ever, although I have hundreds and hundreds of PC games at home, since 1993 (yeah, I'm quite old ;-). And I bought 19 of them here on Gog.
I said all this before to make things clear: I don't want to be rude, nor be a stone on Gog's shoes. I only felt the necessity to be honest read more and preserve people's money. Here is a man that knows what he says: don't waste your money with this game. I mean it! Go buy Gothic II, or Baldur's Gate, or Outcast, or Psychonauts... The list is huge, so there is NO REASON to buy this game.
To anyone who wants to know why not to buy it, I will be short: it's a very linear, boring, and badly designed game.
