Very medicore but story keeps you going
It's quite important to mention that Under The Waves, while telling the story of Stan, is also intended to educate players about the real-life Surfrider Foundation. Initially, when I bought this game and saw that notice in the main menu, I was quite afraid I had wasted my money, but it was not that bad. The game, in general, is indeed oversimplified and filled with tasks like cleaning the ocean floor of plastic litter. However, if you focus on the story itself and bear with some boring moments, it has a sci-fi vibe and an underwater adventure that is not so common. While almost every game mechanic was quite poor, Stan's story was not that interesting to me, and I completely ignored the Surfrider Foundation background, there are some things that catch your attention just enough to keep it going.
